Adults: loves everyone! Snuggles well, happy happy little guy!

Potty Training Progress: working hard but wears a belly band inside currently to be safe!

Crate Training: sleeps in his crate at night just fine!

Great things about HHR Flurry (from his foster): He loves to go on walks and does amazing on a leash. He loves to run in the yard and jump in the leaves. He does well when it's raining and has no problem splashing in every puddle. His favorite time of day is his mornings. After going out for a walk he loves to play with every toy he can find in the house. He has mastered tug of war and has yet to be defeated. He gets along great with other dogs and people. He has 2 foster siblings that he does great with. He has not shown any aggression even at dinner time. At night he sleeps in his crate or baby bassinet whatever he chooses and does great with no accidents. He has yet to get up on the couch and lay down. He just recently started to use the stairs to come up on the couch for a head scratch but he is always down within a minute or two.He loves belly rubs but not a fan of hugs yet. He likes to lay on the floor beside me. We are just taking every step one day at a time and celebrating all of his accomplishments. This little furball is going to make someone an amazing companion

Medical/Vetting: Flurry has not finished his vetting. He will need to go to a home near an HHR vet or stay with his foster until it is complete

Vetting is completed. Petunia also has had a dental and her vet removed 8 teeth.

House training: does very well if taken out on occasion. She will go to the door when needing to go outside. She stays in a section of the house when we are both at work for 5-6 hours with no accidents.

Behaviors: Very sweet lady. Calm and quiet. Still timid when approached but loves to be by our side on the couch. I have yet to heard her bark at anything. Doesn’t Petunia sound perfect?

Leash: she does very well with a leash. We double leash when outside of the back yard just in case because as most rescues she is a flight risk. More practice on a leash I think she would be a great walking companion.

Cats: Not tested. Have seen them at the vet and she doesn’t care about them.

Other dogs: not tested but at the vet she couldn’t care less about them. We think Petunia misses the company of other dogs and would probably enjoy a small dog companion.

Children: Does well with fosters grandkids but sometimes the noise is too much for her and she goes to her kennel. Older kids or no kid home may be better. But I’m sure would warm up either way.

Adults: still timid to approach but I have gotten her to stay when I hold my hand out and quietly but sternly say stay. And when you say “up” she will lift her body to prepare.

Sleeping: sleeps all night in her crate with little to no noise. We keep the crate in our room close to our bed. When I get up in the morning, the routine is open the door and she comes right out and goes outside to potty before breakfast.

Great things about HHR Petunia: her calmness and her big, beautiful Bichon nose! She doesn’t let much excite her and just loves to lounge around the couch or a bed. Very quiet. She also can smell Bacon cooking one street over. She has never had bacon but her nose works fantastic. 🥓 👃🏻

Vetting is completed. She is spayed and needs one more vax mid September and then she is ready for her new life. Her teeth are in great shape!

House training: Birdie is working on her house training manners. Her foster has her in a schedule according to when she eats and her foster is doing a great job mitigating accidents.

Behaviors: Birdie is sweet and cuddly and doesn’t bark much yet. Not really into toys yet. Likes the kids. Doesn’t mind the hamster.

Leash/Exercise: Birdie is learning to walk on a leash and is doing well.

Cats: n/a

Hamster: has been nose to nose with a hamster.

Other dogs: Birdie was a breeding dog and would do well with other dogs who are small and well mannered. She has been introduced to another small dog and showed little interest likely because she is nervous in rescue.

Children: Wonderful with children- she allows them to hold and pet her, she has very quiet demeanor but is coming around very well in limited time.

Adults: Birdie has mostly bonded with her foster mom. She likes the kids and has also been placed on foster dad’s lap with success. But she is shy around men.

Sleeping: sleeps in a crate. (9:45pm-6:45am is her current schedule).

Containment: does not mind being crated.

Great things about HHR Birdie: Birdie loves to sit on your lap and is very sweet and loving. She adapts to trusting you. She has rarely barked at all, only a couple instances while in her crate when she was alone in a room. If her crate is around us she prefers that.

Security: HHR Birdie is a flight risk. Gates must be secured. Fencing must be inspected for holes. Leashes must be put on anytime going outside with a responsible adult or trained young person holding leash securely so Birdie doesn’t escape.

House training: coming along nicely as long as he is taken out every couple hours. He even woke his foster up to go out in the middle of the night on a recent trip!

Behaviors: he can be crated. Whimpers a little if his foster steps out of sight. He has a job and goes to work every day with his foster.

He does well on a leash.

He does OK with being picked up but doesn’t really care for it, but will allow it. That has even gotten better in the last week or so. He turns his back to his foster and sploots (all four legs out and belly on the floor), then you can pick him up. It’s the funniest thing his foster has ever seen.

Hes definitely a lot less skittish than he used to be. At home, he will bark when someone comes in the house but if his foster has him at someone else’s house it doesn’t phase him.

Also, if you leave things on your bedroom floor he will move things around. It’s quite adorable when he comes out dragging a quilt behind him lol.

Cats: a cat is part of foster family. no chasing but definitely curious. Cat observes dog from atop fridge. 🐱

Other dogs: has been to dog park and doesn’t react to other dogs. No food/toy aggression. Does like to play stuffie keep away from their medium house dog.

Children: fine with 6 and 13 year old who know how to behave around him. Doesn’t like sudden movements. Not used to them.

Adults: does not like a loud and abrupt 19 year old male in the home. Otherwise fine with everyone in the home.

Great things about HHR Yogi: he’s a puppy. He can sploot. He gives kisses but he’s not obsessive about it.

This dog has not completed her vetting. If the selected adopter is not near an HHR vet, this dog will stay with the foster until vetting is completed.

Behaviors: she began totally shut down and cowering in a corner. She didn’t know how to eat out of bowl and would quake when I picked her up. She is still more trusting of dogs than people, but all she needs is a little patience and time. And she is so curious about the world and so so smart. She follows me around at a distance and accepts periodic hug sessions on my lap, slowly relaxing and then dozing. ❤️❤️
She can use a doggie door and steps to get up on the bed. She loves sniffing the air in the backyard and she walks on a leash well when we go outside to potty.

Crated at night, goes to patio door and uses p*e pad if foster mom is too slow to get her out.

Cats: Not tested, but assume no reaction.

Other dogs: Deals well with all dogs - big and small, old and young. She was one of eight dogs over Christmas, and she started playing with them as well as sharing a dog bed.

Children: unknown, but feel she’d do well if they are older, gentle and respectful.

Adults: becoming more and more secure around people. She wants to connect, she’s just still learning to trust.
Has shown zero hostility or negative behaviors even at first when she was terrified.

Great things about HHR Pina Colada: when she lets the rest of her walls down, she will be the sweetest, most playful companion imaginable.

Medical/Vetting:
She has a spay appointment 1/23.
She has had a dental and lost 24 teeth, but takes no medication, and is otherwise very healthy.
