Sometimes we feel pulled in a new direction and we always want to honor those feelings. Lately, breeding sheep has seemed to have gotten harder for us. The losses seem to sting more. That horrible feeling of not knowing if you did enough seems harder to recover from. In the midst of this lambing season, when Daisey was struggling to have her lambs, David and I both decided that we need a break from lambing. It has felt like the universe has been giving us these signs for awhile but we have been blissfully ignoring them but now its time to listen. We have sold our ram and these lambs will be the last ones we will have available for now. Our ewes are some of our favorites so they will be staying to enjoy retirement. We will have 8 ewe lambs and 2 ram lambs available so if you are interested please let me know.

We will be transitioning the ranch into a new direction which we are so excited for so please stay tuned. A new name will be coming as well: Beyond the Fences...

I'm sorry to see so many names written on this lantern that was most likely set free on the 4th of July and landed in our pasture this morning. We understand the sentiment behind this gesture but we also hope that people understand that they do come down eventually and they can create problems for livestock and wild life. Some get spooked and can go through a fence, others might try eating it and choke or they can get tangled up in the wires and such. Please consider another form of letting your lost loved ones know they are still thought of ❤ We are thankful that all our animals just avoided it so it caused no real problem for us.

Since the 4th of July is a week away we always want to make sure our animals have the choice to be where they feel safest so the track system is taken down temporarily so everyone can roam freely. The horses were certainly excited 😊 Thankfully all our horses do pretty well with fireworks. Once the first couple are lit off they find their place and even when we go and check on them they are not shaking or anything concerning so we are grateful for that.

Fans and misting hoses are what hots days at the ranch call for. The horses first thought the hose was a spitting snake so treats had to be involved to get them to trust it 😄 The chickens love to stand in front of the fan on the watered down concrete to get some relief.

Well thats a first...Ping (our matriarch and herd queen) gave birth to a pure black 9 # ewe lamb 🤯 and another 8 # ewe lamb. Thank you to Holly Rene Gill for being my eyes and ears since we had a doctor's appointment and could not be there. Thankfully all went well with the delivery and mom and babies are doing well ❤🖤❤
