The weather has been crazy here in the NE! 70 degrees one day 27 degrees the next morning.
Ticks are out looking for a host when the weather reaches 32 degrees.
We feed feral cats. One of the cuties had 2 ticks on her. Unfortunately we can't get close enough to spray them. We do spray our property but they roam around the neighborhood.

West Nile Virus mosquitos found in Orange County, NY
These are the precautions you should take:
1. Use No More Ticks spray....it kills mosquitos
2. Dispose of water sitting in any cans, flower pots etc in your yard
3. Drill holes in the bottoms of recycling containers that sit outside
4. Make sure that roof gutters drain properly, Clean clogged gutters in the spring and fall
5. Turn over wading pools and wheelbarrows when not in use
6. Change the water in waterbaths twice a week
7. Remove all discarded tires from your property
8. Clean vegetation and debris from the edges of ponds
9. Drain water from pool covers and remove leaves and debris as they collect on covers to reduce breeding areas
10. Use landscaping to eliminate standing water that may collect on your property

Happy Fall Equinox!
Here is a nice Easy Pumpkin Dog Treat Recipe for you to make for your special pup!

Ingredients:
1 cup pumpkin (canned works great)
2 eggs
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2.5-3 cups whole wheat flour

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin, eggs & peanut butter and stir well
3. Add 2.5 cups of flour and stir to combine. The dough should be about the consistency of play dough, soft and easy to roll out, but not wet & sticky. Add more flour as needed
4. Divide the dough into 2 pieces. Working with 1 piece at a time, roll it out on a well-floured surface until it is 1/2" thick
5. Cut the dog treats out using a cookie cutter, or simply cut into squares
6. Place the cut-out cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet
7. Repeat with remaining dough
8. Bake 20 minutes until cooked through
9. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for 3 months.

After they've eaten their treats, make sure you spray them with our all natural, non-toxic tick & other flying insect repellent, before you take them out.
