I’m very proud of Indy today! 💕

We placed 4th in Leadline, 2nd in Liberty Horse (I was competing against myself with my personal horse, Xavier), and 1st in Training Level: At The Shoulder (we were the only one in that class)!

We’ve still got some classes tomorrow so I can’t wait to see how she does!

Here is Indy’s Liberty Horse Novice, Pattern 2 class!

This is a longgg video but I still wanted to post it all.
She was doing good but when we went into our left Liberty circles she totally ran off. Even though it was kind of a bummer… I’m actually really glad that she got to experience me being the “good spot” since if she went anywhere else there was a flagger. She connected back to me so well and we finished on a really good note! 💕

Here is Indy’s Leadline Novice, Pattern 2 class!

After one large trotting circle around me, I was supposed to ask Indy to do a direction change but I got lost so her direction change was a circle delayed… all my bad! 😅
Other than that I’m very proud of this class! 💕

Here is Indy’s Training Level: At The Shoulder Novice, Pattern 1!

She walked away from me after our at shoulder trotting circle to the right but I’m super happy with her coming back to me!

Yesterday, we took Indy on her first outing with us!

We went to a Liberty clinic and she did fantastic! She loaded right up into the trailer and backed out very willing. We brought one of my personal horses, Xavier, along as well and he was very very anxious throughout the whole thing; lots of neighing. Even though a buddy was worried, Indy was so calm the whole time!
I had her tied with my mom watching over while I went away for a bit and she got anxious. She likes to her have her “main person” with her while she’s tied but over time I’m going to try to build my distance from her and hopefully she’ll start to understand nothings gonna happen when she’s by herself.

Indy has got some DRAW! 🤩

Indy has made such good progress with her Liberty! She’s so much calmer while doing her trotting Liberty circles. We’re starting to add some more maneuvers and this was also her first time doing a direction change fully at Liberty!
Such a smart girl. ❤️

Here is Indy getting on the pedestal!

The first time we worked with the pedestal she got right on it - I’m guessing just being used to stepping up into higher trailers!
She’s sort of careless when it comes to finding the right spot to balance the pedestal so sometimes I have to stop it from falling over - after this we got on a few more times and she slipped off a couple times (nothing bad of course, just not finding the pedestal and stepping around it or too far and making it tip) and that made a click in her head “oh I actually have to give this some thought”! We made good progress after that!

I would like to address all the water falling out of her mouth… she had just taken a drink and I guess was going to save the water but decided against it later! 😂

Here is Indy doing some trotting!

She seems to be more forward with the saddle than when ba****ck. She kept trying to cut the circle smaller and since I only have one rein in the video it was hard to push her out. I did end up getting her to go out a little more, but later we tied my lead rope so I could have two reins. That seemed to help her a lot!

Super proud of her! 💕

Here is Indy’s first ride with the saddle with us!

She’s always been fairly calm at the walk but now is really starting to carry her head lower.
We’re still working on her stop. She knows to stop when I pull back but so far I can tell the “Woah” word means absolutely nothing to her - that’s perfectly fine though! It’ll give us something easy and calm to work on.

Indy is settled in at her new foster home. She is the sweetest horse and is eager to please. She loves attention! We are working on taking a saddle and taking a bit. I am having trouble posting pictures and videos- as soon as we can, I will be adding videos and pictures of her.
