Soooo... I am a VERY visual person, and I am certain that there are others out there like me that prefer a good ole photo over lots of words and chatter! With that being said, I thought it might be helpful to share our updated rendering for the 2025 Wish Expansion Project.

As I rambled on about in our live on Monday, the plan has morphed some since our original announcement last spring. As we noted, the changes were made for various reasons, however... most importantly, they were thoughtfully developed to ensure that our time, finances and resources are being used most appropriately.

Speaking of ... We are VERY grateful for the outpouring of support we continue to receive; without all of YOU, The Wish would cease to exist. Farmer Dave and I would not be able to provide the very best care and safety for our 60+ residents without your unwavering support. It humbles us each day... and we could never truly express just how much it means to us to have you all in our corner.

We hope that you will consider joining us at this year's Fall on the Farm on September 6th! Not only does the event have some great new additions we are sure you will all LOVE (hint, hint... follow the event page to get all the deets!), you can also get a firsthand glimpse of some of the improvements we have been able to make here this summer. Oh ... and you get to mingle with 60ish adorable animals too, so hey ... what more could you ask for??

And that's that for now... off to tackle some more projects and serve some dinner to the crew!

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Phew... it's a warm one out there again today! We hope y'all are stayin' as cool as Gary in his kiddie pool!

If you happened to catch our live on Sunday (and made it to the end of a looooong session of me rambling!), you MAY have heard me mention that we are in need of some volunteers at two events next week.

🎶 Thursday, August 7th - Serving food at Algoma Concerts in the Park (band is Concious Pilot)
** Serving 5pm - 9:30pm ~ 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift availability

🍔 Saturday, August 9th - Burger & Brat Fry Fundraiser at Stodola's IGA
** Serving 10:30am - 1:30pm ~ 1st and 2nd shift availability

✂️ New ‘do … who dis?? ✂️

Farm Dog Bruce went to see Miss Danielle at Peaceful paws grooming spa LLC this week, and as you can see… these summer temps warranted the good ole high and tight cut!

When asked his opinion on his new look, he commented … “Not only is it functional, it makes me even more devastatingly handsome… which, quite honestly, I didn’t even know was possible.”

He followed up with … “Ladies, please form a line.” 🤦🏼‍♀️

And that’s a wrap on year two at Luxy Raceway!!! Thanks to all of our AMAZING volunteers… tonight we’re bringing home $755 for The Wish!!

Going to go a long way in the 2025 Wish Expansion Project … WOOT!! WOOT!!

We’ve been graced with some pretty amazing recognition in the past five years, but this…. THIS is makin’ us feel extra special y’all!!!

You see … our friends over at have a fantastic spokespiggie who’s gained quite a bit of notoriety over his “Pig Tales” series!! If you haven’t checked out Jenkins’ weekly biographies of the many lucky piggies livin’ out their absolute BEST lives with their Momma TJ at Saving Snouts, you ABSOLUTELY need to!!

We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with them to rescue and transport several of piggies… and Momma TJ is always a phone call away when we need help. She’s been a wonderful resource and source of knowledge for us! I mean… she’s the one who assured us it wasn’t Cliffy’s time. So, yeah… in addition to be helpful, she’s also a pretty amazing friend too!

Anywho… Jenkins apparently caught wind of our busy weekend (he IS a roving reporter!!) and decided to put his creative genius to work in helping promote the hard work our team put in! And let’s just say…. He TOTALLY nailed it!!!

We are so thankful to Jenkins for taking time out of his busy schedule to create this awesome piece of artwork for us!!! It’s something we’ll always look back on and smile… the perfect way to capture a pretty awesome weekend!!

Snuck away to to celebrate Farmer Dave’s birthday!!! This guy works hard 365 to keep our family safe, healthy and happy… tonight we can at least give him the night off and make sure he’s well fed!!!

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday, Friends!

Looking for something fun to do this Friday night? Well, we’d love for you to join us at the Luxy Raceway where we will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets in support of The Wish!!!

We had a blast selling tickets last fall, AND our efforts brought home just over $1,100!!

🩵 What. A. Weekend. 🩵

When Dave I and first started this journey, it was simply the two of us… learning as went. With each pasture we made, each feeder we built, each house/shelter we refurbished… we put in 110% as we built a future for countless animals we had not yet met, but would need us.

Starting with two alpacas, we never imagined we’d some day need space for just over 60 animals. But, alas… here we are. We’ve shared that this summer would be a season of changes and improvements here at The Wish. It’s been a long time coming, and we’ve been anxious to get a move on and get ‘er done. The animals in our care are always our top priority, and with their health and wellness top of mind… we are now plowing ahead with full steam!

Luckily, we are no longer a two-person team!! This weekend our amazing friends Jesse, Desirae Wierzba, Jennifer Hurley and Christian were right by our side! The goal was cow pasture … and I’d say we did a pretty damn good job! We started with drilling holes for and cementing in the six telephone pole end posts. Next up, we drilled holes for 72-4” cedar posts which will create over 650 feet of pasture fencing for the moos!!! In addition, we trimmed trees and cleaned the back barn cement area which will become the access area for the cows to enter the barn.

There are SOOOOO many moving parts to this project! It’d be nearly impossible for me to write them all out… and y’all know I LOVE to to write (ALMOST as much as I LOVE to talk! 😂)!!!

So… I’m thinkin’ we owe y’all a good ole update via a live walking tour of The Wish! A “What’s new and what’s a happenin’ ‘round here?”

We’re wrapping up a few loose ends… but let’s plan on next Sunday, shall we? We can’t wait to show you around …
