nd is a refuge for those dogs who otherwise may be labeled "hard to adopt" or "unadoptable" by ordinary standards. Some of our Sanctuary dogs are only with us until they become well enough to be adopted, or until that "special" home is found. ICY aka Ice Man/Icy Hot, Ice Ice Baby is a 1-2 yr old neutered male rescued from a rural WV shelter after a fire. (More information in earlier posts)
Ice is in a foster home with 2 dogs and gets along well. He is still a youngster and has a lot of energy. He needs daily exercise ( yard play, walks) or he will harass you until he gets it. He is housebroken & needs training to improve his manners. He is very mouthy like most young retrievers. He wants to be your best friend.
ICY is in a foster home in Lewisburg WV.

Lake Dufus is still looking for his forever home. Dufus doesn't have a mean bone, is crate and house trained, fully vetted, including neuter, vaccines, flea and heartworm preventative.

Dufus does have a very slight limp due to an earlier accident which resulted in a dislocated hip.....now surgically repaired.

Dufus is high energy and needs someone to play with him. He has gotten along with the other dogs here. He is sweet as can be but is too active for a young child.

We will consider adoption, or foster homes. Please help him, he has waited so long now. With a little patience and training, he is going to make some very lucky person an exceptional companion.

This is George, a pup we accepted into rescue last week. We really need help paying George's bill from Cardiologist and for his future medical procedure to save his life.

George, is a 10 week old Golden/Aussie mix puppy who is suffering from a congenital heart defect known as PDA. He just wasn't fully developed at the time of his birth, and it left him with a tremendous heart murmur and weak heart function. He was seen by Dr. Holt at CVCA in Leesburg yesterday. The good news - his problem can be corrected with a minimally invasive procedure when he is about 4 months old. The bad news: it will cost $7,000 to save his life. We need help - we just don't have that much money in reserve. PLEASE - I'm begging you - - - - - - a donation in any amount will help!

Little Bear is still available! His home fell through due to no fault of his own. Little Bear is about 1 year old, crate trained, vaccinated with core vaccines, and negative for heartworm, lyme, ehrlichia, and anaplasmosis. He currently weighs 54 lbs. He came from the same rural shelter as Goldie. He gets along great with other dogs, and is very smart and willing to please. His temperment is exceptional. He will be neutered soon but he is entertaining applications now! Please help us find this wonderful dog a home!

Goldie is a 10 yr old spayed female who spent her entire life at a rural shelter in central WV. Goldie is a 70 lb golden lab mix. She is vaccinated, dewormed , treated for fleas and is on heartworm preventative. She has had her massive ear infections treated and nails trimmed so she can walk.
Goldie gets along with other dogs. Loves collecting all the toys and hoarding them in her bed. She is content to hang out in the house all day with you.

She will be going to the vet on Monday.
She has an ear infection, needs vaccines, nail trim, heartworm test& meds, flea preventative and f***l. And maybe more.
