CCAS: Colorado Companion Animal Sanctuary Mission: To provide sanctuary and rehab for unadoptable cats with a good QOL, and help with rehoming when time permits.

CCAS provides sanctuary to special needs cats that are considered unadoptable. The types of special needs vary - neurological, musculoskeletal, issues related to aging and emotional/behavioral. Whatever their needs, all the cats have manageable conditions and good quality of life.

We got some very bad news yesterday about one of our first CCAS kitties, Oz. He has been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, which is affecting his mouth, nose, and right eye.

We are still in shock, but the plan for now is hospice care with pain management. Ozzie is one of our Manx Syndrome kitties, but this is unrelated.
