We’re SO excited to partner with Brews and Tattoos Okc for Tails and Tattoos on May 10th! Come join us starting at noon. Meet adoptable dogs from multiple rescues, shop with local vendors, drink refreshing drinks, grab a bite to eat, and get a tattoo!

All proceeds from the tattoos will be donated to the rescue to help the pets in our program.

🐾 Confident & Playful Girl 🐾

Meep came to us as a friendly stray - she was very used to humans and adapted immediately to indoor kitty life. Her friend that she was found with was adopted immediately, but this sweet girl has now been waiting 6+ weeks at our adoption center, waiting for someone to pick her.

Meep is a confident and playful young lady who is full of personality. Meep loves chasing toys, getting treats, and showing off her spunky side. After a hard day of play, she loves to settle near her humans for nap time. She's previously lived with other cats and would do well in a home with feline friends after slow introductions —or as the star of the show! With her bold spirit and affectionate nature, Meep is ready to charm her way into your heart.

[OKC] If you’ve visited our OKC location anytime in almost the last year, chances are, you’ve met Lindy. This sweet and relaxed girl has been waiting patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) for her furrever home since June 2024. Most cats get adopted pretty quickly with us, but the quieter, sometimes more “aloof” types can often spend extra time waiting. Lindy is a sweetie and we’re 100% sure she’ll continue to bloom and really show just HER special people all her quirks and fun personality, compared to the little glimpses we get at the cat cafe. SHAR alum, Dasha, and her brother got out of their backyard on Wednesday. Her brother has been found but Dasha is still missing. She is microchipped to her owner as well as to the rescue.

$5 FRIDAY: Felix's Urgent Amputation

Felix was found as a friendly stray who had been around searching for somewhere to call home. A kind community member took him in upon finding his severe condition and reached out for help. He was urgently taken to our vet and due to his condition our vet agreed to do a same-day amputation - which most likely had saved his life.

Felix is the biggest lover-boy and is now resting much more comfortable in his safe, loving foster home.

Courtesy Post: Benny & Beau – Bonded Blue-Eyed Brothers Seeking a Loving Home

Meet Benny and Beau – two stunning, blue-eyed brothers in search of a calm and caring forever home. Their current owner is sadly facing health challenges and can no longer provide the care these boys need, so we're helping share their story as a courtesy post. They are not part of our safe haven program, but we hope the right adopter finds them through this outreach.

Benny and Beau are neutered and front-declawed, approximately 7–8 years old, and deeply bonded – they must be adopted together. Beau is diabetic and requires insulin twice a day, but both cats are otherwise in good health.

Because they are declawed, they must remain strictly indoors. Declawed cats are more prone to arthritis and chronic paw discomfort, and they need a home that will keep them safe and comfortable. An adopter familiar with the needs of diabetic and declawed cats – or willing to learn – would be ideal.

These boys are quiet, gentle, and used to living with adults. Benny loves a good game of fetch, and both cats enjoy being the center of attention when guests visit – true charmers with sweet, loving personalities.

This is a heartbreaking decision for their current owner, but it’s being made out of love and a desire to give Benny and Beau the best chance at a happy future.

WE CAN’T WAIT TO SHARE THIS UPDATE!!!

Ralph was in our program for over a year and a half to NO FAULT of his own. He was constantly overlooked at adoption events for no other reason than he had a silly little bark that never grew up when he did 😂

Then Rebecca came along. She had adopted a pup from our program previously and was looking to add to the pack. She saw our post about Ralph being a member of the “Lonely Hearts Club” and knew it was because he was waiting for her to come into his life. She adopted him and we crossed our fingers and toes that it would be a forever match.

Fast forward a month- Ralph is THRIVING! He plays with all of the resident and guest dogs in his home and follows the cat around like his little shadow. He has overcome his fear of car rides and is learning how to be the best boy on leash.

Thank you for everyone who supported Ralph on his journey! Whether you met him at an event, shared his post, or donated to his care we- we cannot thank you enough. And to his fosters, Mindy and Darbie, THANK YOU for loving this boy and never giving up on him.

Sweet Ralph, we’re SO proud of you for finding your forever. Thank you for showing us that the best things in life are worth waiting for 💕

❤️ Meet Tommy ❤️
🐾 Affectionate, Gentle-Natured Boy 🐾

Tommy is a friendly and curious 2-year-old boy who loves to lounge by the window and watch the world go by. Naps on fuzzy blankets or watching the world go by outside a window are some of his favorite hobbies. He’s the perfect mix of playful and independent—always up for some fun, but also happy to chill on his own while his humans are away. Tommy will make a wonderful companion with his sweet and affectionate nature.

He’s ready to find his forever home and will be available for adoption at the Norman PetSmart starting Friday, 3/28.

Panda is the cutest pink-nosed, crinkly ear, Tuxedo girl! She loves play time with feather or string toys, carrying spring toys around in her mouth, or window watching birds or squirrels out the window! While she may be shy at first, with some time and treats Panda will show you her love with lots of purrs and head bumps.

Panda will do best in a calm home with no young kids or energetic dogs - although she loves her kitty friends and would do well with other cats! Panda has been waiting two months for her forever home and we are ready to see her break free of the cattery and find her forever home!

❗️URGRNT: FOSTERS NEEDED❗️
❗️PREGNANT CATS, KITTENS, CATS❗️

We always do our best to help every request we receive, but the only way we can continue saying yes is by having open foster homes. As a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) rescue, we don’t have a facility—fosters are the heart of our mission.

Right now, we have two urgent cases that desperately need placement:

🐾 A pregnant mama cat who has been surviving as a stray. A kind person has taken her in during the cold, but she needs a safe, loving home to have and raise her kittens before we find them all forever families.

🐾 A teen kitten found wet and frozen, embedded with ice. A kind rescuer took them in and is keeping them in a warm outdoor space, but this isn’t a long-term solution. They need a real home where they can heal, get vetted, and find safety.

Kitten season is coming, and there is more to come. Both of these cats need help, and sadly, there are many more just like them. But right now, our foster homes are full, and with kitten season approaching, the need is only growing.

All cats in our program receive full veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, and any medical attention they need. Once they are ready, they go through a rigorous adoption screening process to ensure they find safe, loving, and committed homes.

We know we can’t save every cat, but we hold onto the story of the person on the beach, tossing starfish back into the ocean. When told, “You can’t possibly make a difference for all of them,” they picked up another starfish, threw it into the waves, and said, “I made a difference for that one.”

Fostering makes that difference—one life at a time.

We are a compassionate, dedicated team, and we’re hoping to find people who have been looking for a way to help. If that’s you, we’d love to have you join us in making a real impact!
