Tiny Alaska! He was harder than any patterned horse I've done, trying to get his little freckles to look right. When you see them every day, it's actually harder to capture the whole personality and body in a way that feels like That Horse.
Also I hand sculpted his mane, left shoulder, forelock, fetlocks, and some of his tail!
I'm very proud of how he turned out!

Real Alaska is 26 now, and was everyone's favorite lesson horse for as long as I was an instructor. Here he is immortalized as a custom Breyer!

This one is my new test subject "ExperiMare." 😅 (Well not "new" at all, I got her with her equally sun-faded friend at a garage sale for probably a dollar in the mid 2000's.) Always meant to repaint her but never did. After I fix her leg, she'll be the first one I try out new products and techniques on. She may end up looking like an ExperiMess, but that's okay, she has a purpose now!

Little Alaska and Little Blade got some plastic surgery last night. Alaska has half a new mane, and they both have proper new gelding bits. Blade's started out as a lump that needed to go and be completely redone. Alaska's started out as a stallion, and there just isn't a way to get rid of balls without taking out the rest of the undercarriage with it on a model this small.

Horse people have no shame in this area!

Tiny Ghost has been my test subject for everything, so don't worry she's not headed into Model Pony Colic Surgery, she's just letting some new varnish dry. 🤣

This stunningly gorgeous girl is Serenity! She's a 5 year old Polish Arabian mare in for some desensitizing and under saddle work. She's an absolute sweetheart as you can see, but definitely needed some confidence as well as to build up some groundwork skills. The first day I brought her out to explore her new surroundings was more like flying a very pretty kite. Today she was calm and connected and brave! We worked on going through barrels to work on her claustrophobic tendencies, and introduced her to the plastic bag. I think she must have been shown in halter, as the first time I waved it above her head, she stood up and stretched out like a show horse! Nice, but not quite what we were going for. 🤣 In the end she stood ground tied while I moved it around and walked up to her. Excited to see how she comes along!
