Our Story
Running Wild Alpaca Ranch is dedicated to raising alpacas with the most positive fleece characteristics that can be achieved with these beautiful animals and it shows in our yarn and fiber products. After shearing each year we skirt and sort our fiber by hand and choose unique blending fibers to add in to our yarn, such as super fine merino wool, angora, yak, silk, baby camel, bamboo, pearl fiber, milk fiber, and rose fiber. This attention to detail helps us to create the most luxurious small batches of yarn you can imagine. They are silky soft and a dream to work with. We are also doing some uncommon yarn types like Lopi which is a 6+ inch suri single twist in a bulky weight (the off-white cowl in the picture was knitted from this).
In addition to all of the beautiful yarn blends we have 100% huacaya and suri alpaca yarn and we hand dye many unique colorways to fit almost any imagination. We also offer hand dyed and natural rovings, raw fiber, exotic fibers, and more for our spinning and felting friends.
We have many hand made products from our own fiber as well including rugs, woven and wet felted scarves, shoe inserts, felted saddle pads, leads, dog leashes, and reins. Wow, and if that is not enough to peak your interest, we also carry alpaca socks, gloves, blankets, wraps, vests, purses, teddy bears, and many other unique and one of a kind items.
