I’m 2022 Milo (formerly Fido) entered Julie & her families life and they’ve never looked back!

“He has been a wonderful addition to our family and he has been the best boy” says Julie.

Milo is the most gentle giant & BIGGEST lap dog! Best travel companion 🚙 and even better nap partner!

His hobbies include - napping on the couch and stealing food! 🤣

We’re so happy Milo found his family and MHLRM got to be a part of their story.

Pup of the Day: Max 8 months old. Max is a stunning young boy whose heart is even bigger than his resilience 😍 Despite the unfair circumstances of being abandoned when his owner moved 🤯Max hasn’t let his past dim his incredibly sweet and devoted spirit!

Max is bursting with the playful energy of a young Lab and carries a deep desire to please and connect with his people 🖤

Max is looking for a loyal family who will promise him forever—a home 🏡 where he can finally put down roots and shower his new owners with the abundant, trusting love he’s been saving.

Give Max a second chance, and he will be the most grateful and faithful companion you could ever ask for!

Max is really good on leash, pretty impressive for such a young lab! 🐕‍🦺. He loves his furry friends & has a very playful personality, running and tussling! Working on crate training in his foster home, but this boy is fully potty trained!

Pup of the Day: Winter, 8 months old — soft heart, soulful eyes, and the kind of sweetness that just makes you want to love her forever 💞

Winter can be a little shy at first, especially with new people, but give her patience and kindness and she absolutely blossoms 😍

Once she feels safe, she turns into a total snuggle bug who just wants to be close to her people and make them proud. She’s especially sensitive around men, and we suspect her past wasn’t always gentle 💔 which makes the trust she offers now even more special.

She was rescued after being given away for free in the Houston area, and we’re so grateful we could step in to make sure her next chapter is filled with love and security.

In her foster home, Winter is thriving: she’s potty trained, sleeps through the night, settles quietly during work-from-home meetings, and sees her crate as a cozy, safe space.

🐾 Winter loves other dogs and would really shine with a confident dog sibling to help show her the ropes. She’s also great with cats and would do best with older kiddos who can respect her space while she warms up.

She has bursts of joyful puppy energy, loves to run and play, but is also wonderfully go-with-the-flow and happy to relax by your side.

Pup of the Day: Liam 🐾 an 8-year-old, 100-pound black Lab who somehow still believes he is a lap dog (and honestly… he’s not wrong) 😉

This tall, handsome senior is the definition of gentle, loyal, and sweet-as-they-come.

Liam is everything people love about Labs: devoted to his humans, calm and steady, eager to please, and happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing. Whether that’s a slow stroll outside or a cozy night on the couch! 🥰 He has that old-soul energy that makes you instantly relax the moment he’s near.

Despite his size, Liam is incredibly soft and affectionate. He leans in for pets, loves being close, and has a quiet, comforting presence that makes him feel like he’s always been part of the family. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be flashy — he just shows up with his whole heart 🥹

Liam is heartworm positive, but treatment is straightforward, fully covered by MHLM, and dogs go on to live long, happy, totally normal lives after. Please don’t let that be the reason you scroll past this amazing boy… senior dogs like Liam make the BEST companions!

Pup of the Day: Bailey 6 years old. Bailey is an absolute sweetheart, whose sunny personality brightens every corner of the room! This gorgeous girl is the quintessential lab: loyal, happiest in water, and overflowing with affection⭐️

Bailey was surrended with another dog to a shelter in Waco, TX, but her 92 yr old owner who shared he felt he could no longer safely care for his dogs with his failing health. The shelter reached out to MHLM, and the rest is history! 💛

Bailey lives for quality time with her people, whether it involves a fun game of fetch 🦴 or a quiet afternoon nap right by your side. She is eager to please, easy to love, and promises to bring endless warmth and joy to your home

If you’re looking for a devoted, gentle, and happy-go-lucky companion, Bailey is the perfect golden ray of sunshine you need! ☀️

Sweet Bailey is truly the best - happy, playful, friendly, loving, and joyful! She is sweet as they come, loves dog and human friends, and enters every room with a happy tail wag!

Bailey is phenomenal with other dogs! She loves to play, but also loves to hang, and takes cues really well. She is so easy going! 🐶

Bailey likes little respectful kiddos, but seems happiest with older children (6+) and teens. She was somewhat anxious in her initial foster home with teeny humans, she was good with them, but her foster felt like the noise and chaos caused her some stress🏡

Strong on a leash (typical lab) but is crate trained, potty trained, and knows basic commands! She’s the full package! 🦮

Pup of the Day; Willow 4 months old- Looking for a pocket sized lab with the best personality?! Willow! The cutest lab x cheweenie x golden retreiver mix whose energy and vibe is as lovely and adaptable as her namesake! Just like a graceful willow tree, she is flexible, sweet, and promises to bend with the breeze of your family life. This darling pup offers a perfect balance: she is playful and curious, yet wonderfully mellow and thrives on gentle cuddles. 🖤

Willow is ready to flourish in a loving home where she can grow strong, loyal, and full of devotion right by your side. 🥰

Willow is a total pocket pal - happiest snuggled up with her people, following them around, or playing with her foster siblings! She’s adaptable, go with the flow, and has the most wonderful demeanor. We love her!!

Willow & her sister come from an “oopsie” litter in Houston, TX. They recently made their way to CO and are thriving in their foster homes!

Willow is phenomenal with other dogs of all ages and sizes! She does well with both the big lab foster brother & the chihuahua foster brother in her foster hime. Happy to play, but also happy to be independent! 🐶

🐈Willow would do well with kitties in her home. She is gentle, curious, and doesn’t seem to have a prey drive.

Training In progress! Willow is crate trained, working on potty training, and learning basic obedience!

Happy - a day we celebrate our amazing our fosters!! 👏

Meet Mel & Mike (Dynamic Doggie Duo) 🙂 “We started fostering earlier this year after our beloved yellow lab mix Junior passed in Dec. 2024. Our house felt so empty without a dog, and we knew we wanted to get another lab puppy one day but weren’t quite ready yet, so fostering felt like the perfect way to bring back some puppy chaos into our home and also help dogs in need in the meantime”

Our first foster dog was a 1 yr old sweet boy who loved being with people. He had so much love to give & we felt lucky to be a safe place for him until he found his forever home. After he was adopted, we decided to take the plunge and see what it was like to take in one of the little 8 week old puppies…. and fell even more in love with fostering! We have helped 10 dogs so far this year!

The most rewarding part about fostering is,we are able to play an integral part in a dog’s “second chance” at life. For a lot of these dogs, we get to be their first safe space after getting out of a shelter or being found wandering around outside with nowhere to go. With the little puppies, we love helping them find their independence and confidence after leaving their mom and getting to teach them their very first commands! It’s amazing to see how loving and trusting these dogs can be once they know they’re in a safe place, regardless of the hardships they may have gone through.

If you are considering fostering, my advice would be to GO FOR IT! There’s not a single thing we regret. It’s such an amazing experience to be a part of these dogs’ journeys to find their forever homes, and the MHLM foster community is so supportive of each other. It has been more rewarding and fulfilling than we ever expected, and SO much fun! We can’t wait to welcome more furry friends into our home 🐾💛

This rescue wouldn’t exist without people like Mel & Mike! We’re lucky to have them as are the dogs 🐶 Thank you!

Pup of the Day: Ash 4 years old, I know we’ve said this before, but if you’re looking for a family dog, look no further than sweet smiling Ash! 😍

Ash is a sweet healthy boy who loves balls, stuffies and running around the yard! 🐶

Ash gets along really well with other dogs and even loves his kitty friends 🐈

Ash is doing GREAT with the children in his foster home! He is gentle with them and lets them give him snuggles 🥰 A sweet boy who can’t wait to be part of the family chaos!

As a bonus, Ash is fully house trained AND crate trained ✅ He still has some puppy in him which means he loves to run and play. Chasing balls is his favorite pastime, so be ready to throw! 🎾

As playful as he is, he’s a gentle soul who’s a quiet guy who doesn’t bark much at all! Who’s ready to meet and adopt Ash?!

Pup of the day: Comet, 2 months old. Comet is a playful black Lab mix who would love to be in his forever home for the holidays!🎄He promises he’s a very good “Rein-dog” (get it!?) 🦌Comet is ready to bring holiday cheer, endless cuddles, and plenty of festive wags to his forever home.

Comet is a mellow, toy-loving pup who still enjoys jumping into the wrestling ring when his brothers invite him. He’s full of normal puppy energy, but nothing grabs his attention quite like a 🧸 he can shake and pounce on. Once he’s done, he’s right back to his favorite hobby: napping.

Truth be told, he’d usually rather curl up on his human’s lap and watch the other two wrestle from his cozy VIP seat.

Comet came to MHLRM by way of TX. His mama is a gorgeous silver lab and we aren’t sure who dad is. 🤷🏼‍♀️He adores the grown dog in his foster home and follows her everywhere, soaking up everything she does.

🐱Comet is doing great with the cats in his foster, he’s a sweet boy eager to learn!

Working on potty training & crate training. Comet sleeps peacefully through the night, snuggled up with his brothers in a warm, content little pile. Too little to leash walk, but will learn with time! Our rescue follows “No Paws on the Ground” (NPOG) as a safety protocol for young puppies. It means that an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated puppy should never be allowed to put their feet on the ground in any public or communal area where other dogs or animals may have been. Comeoves to play in secure yards, and be snuggled and held on family walks.🐕‍🦺
