Pampered POMS Rescue This is a page for my rescue.We take dogs, mostly poms that would otherwise be taken to the shelter.

We are a 501c3 non profit organization that provides rescue for dogs & cats who need homes. Primarily for the breed of pomeranians, but occasionally others who need urgent care. We take them, do whatever they need, medical, training, etc, and find the perfect home. We exist solely on donations, and appreciate every dollar we get from caring individuals.The animals stay at our grooming facility until they get adopted.

This weekend has been full of surprises. First Lou found a great home. And now Bounce has left also. I held out for the right fit. In the meantime, we helped him with his energy level by a wonderful volunteer walking him daily, and others coming to visit with him. He also went to daycare up the street daily. PAWS is a non-profit doggie daycare / boarding facility that offers this free to other rescues. It really helped him get out that energy in a constructive way. This family will be great for him. It always amazes me when it works out perfectly.

Adopted.
Lou is doing well. I think the meds are really helping him. I would like to get him into a foster home soon. A calmer environment helps him relax. We have discovered he knows how to sit, lay down, and roll over. Smart boy!

At the vet with Lou. We have a final diagnosis. He has a collapsed trachea. Likely from birth (bad breeding). It may shorten his life span, but he is only four years old. With the right home, he could have many years left. They put him on meds. A calm home and some weight loss will help him. The experience at the shelter made it worse, I am sure. The micro chip led us to someone who denies owning him. Hmmmm.
Lou is smart and loving and deserves to be cherished for the rest of his days. The meds aren't expensive, and he will make someone a great companion. We would love to find a foster, but he is not crazy about sharing his human. Reach out to us if you're interested. Our application is on the web site.

Lou is a smart boy. He can sit and fetch and even roll over. He is getting groomed tomorrow and goes to the vet on Wednesday. We haven't seen any signs of any illness, just anxiety. He is a chunk. Reminds me of what a mini samoyed would look like. This great guy just needs a new family.

Lou is so glad to be here.Out of the shelter. This boy had a home and was loved. How he ended up there is beyond me. He loves to explore the yard and is good with the other dogs. He would be great for so many types of homes. He is not tiny or fragile. Solid and beautiful! Happy and ready to offer all of his love!

New Pom Alert
Luscious is a really big fluffy guy. 4 years old. He was at the Leavenworth shelter as a stray. Owner did not claim him. Very sweet. Has a trachea issue, but we think it's from the stress of the shelter. He is a little overweight also. Thier Vet said 16 pounds. Big Beautiful Pom!

Bounce had an adventure this weekend! He went to doggie daycare. The staff said he enjoyed playing with the dogs. He is still looking for the home of his dreams. A fenced yard. A person or a family that will walk him several times a day and / or throw the ball and cuddle when he tires out. He needs to be someone's focus, at least in the beginning, until he matures a bit. Another dog who would enjoy his energy would be great!
