We are very honored to partner with United Cajun Navy on many missions. We are definitely proud of the work they have put in on this search. Bringing closure to families when you can't bring their loved ones home is also very important. Grateful that the United Cajun Navy has no quit! Prayers for all involved.🙏🏻

"Let me tell you about our Jesus.." Mike had a busy week in Texas getting fencing materials distributed to the ranch families in need. As he was in and out of his camp each day, he noticed a sweet lady that he said was always busy trying to keep some "barely-alive flowers" going, and cleaning up the yard area of her campsite. She explained she was the self-proclaimed cat lady of the area and tried to have flowers looking nice so when people drove by they could enjoy them. When Mike asked her if she needed help with groceries or anything else, she politely declined and said she was getting by fine. As days went on, Mike kept feeling like he should check into her a little more to see if he could provide any relief for her.Their whole camp area had been affected by the Guadalupe River flooding on the 4th of July, and after doing some checking Mike found out she was trying to get caught up on rent. After one call to Orphan Grain Train, Inc., Inc. to discuss her situation, all of us agreed to help her get caught up. One trip to Tractor Supply Co.. later...Mike set her up with new flowers, soil, hose, gloves, a gardening hat, and even a bird feeder and some cat treats. He said the joy on her face just made his day. As he unloaded her gardening gifts and told her she was caught up on rent, she cried, and said, "I thought God had forgotten me." Mike reassured her that God has not forgotten her at all. And she replied, "I knew He didn’t forget, but I thought that maybe God had just stopped hearing me."And at that moment, Mike knew this was exactly why he had noticed her, and why it was put on his heart to find a way to help her. What a blessing it is to remind people on their worst days that they are SEEN, and never forgotten. While she was worrying about helping others, God was always near to her....and Jesus can change your life!
Special thanks to all of our supporters that help fuel these missions, and to Orphan Grain Train, Inc. and Tractor Supply Co. for helping this all be such a blessing to others!! We are proud to partner with you all! To join us, go to www.MissionMules.org

Happy Friday! What a productive week it has been in Texas!! Thank you Jesus!! And, Thanks to partners Orphan Grain Train, Inc., Tractor Supply Co., and Mission Mules supporters, this fencing mission was a huge blessing to many in Texas Hill Country that have suffered so much damage from the July 4th floods. We were able to help Texas families with over 5700 T-posts, over 285,000 ft of wire for fencing, plus miscellaneous fencing supplies! We also want to thank Double L Feed & Wildlife Supply in Ingram, Texas for so generously giving us a place to work out of and store materials this week, plus their donation of wire! Also, thank you to the Ingram City Mayor and City Council for all they did to make our stay a productive one! Talk about people that care for their community!! United is strength! Thankful to partners United Cajun Navy for stopping by to support our mission today! We are blessed to work with some of the best organizations with true hearts for helping others, and it takes a village of us to be as strong as possible for those in their worst times. Grateful for Orphan Grain Train, Inc. and our Mission Mules supporters for fueling this Texas flood fencing mission. Knowing we are able to lend a hand to ranchers affected by the 4th of July flooding is a blessing. Texas is strong, and although they are still hurting with so many lives lost last month, they are well on their way to recovery. God continue to be with us all!

Did you know that hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30?
While Mission Mules is watching and prepping to be more capable in the case something were to happen; we also want to remind others that now is the time for you to prepare so YOU are ready if a storm does come. As we have all seen, major storms have happened in places that nobody would have imagined, so take a little time and feel more prepared!

Understanding the Threat:
North Carolina’s coastline has a history of powerful storms which makes hurricanes a constant threat to us. From the catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Florence in 2018 to the devastating impacts of Isaias in 2020 and Helene in 2024, our state is not a stranger to the significant impacts these storms can have. No one knows when or if a tropical system will impact North Carolina. But the risk is always here, making preparedness more of a necessity than just a suggestion.

The Importance of Early Preparation:
Preparation before a storm allows residents to address potential risks and ensure safety measures are in place before a storm threatens.

Building an emergency kit doesn't have to be expensive. You can build a well-stocked emergency kit by just acquiring a few essential items each week, making it less overwhelming. By organizing items like non-perishable food, water, medications, flashlights, batteries, and first aid kits for at least three days, you can make being prepared affordable and accessible.

Create an Emergency Plan:
Develop a comprehensive family emergency plan that includes clear evacuation routes, designated meeting points, and established communication methods. Ensure all family members understand the plan and practice it regularly.

Talk to your Family about the Possibility of a Hurricane:
Don’t be reluctant to talk with your family about the possibility of a hurricane, fire, tornado, or flood. Thought and action before the disaster hits usually help family members react wisely. Families that work together to prepare for the problem will cope better than those who do not take precautions.

Correct Potential Home Hazards:
Identifying and correcting potential home hazards helps protect your home from vulnerabilities. Install storm shutters, reinforce doors and windows, and secure loose outdoor items to prevent damage. Conduct a thorough inspection of your home promptly to identify and rectify any potential hazards.

Protect Valuable Records:
Protecting family papers is an essential part of preparing you for dealing with natural disasters. Check your homeowner’s insurance policy to ensure it covers hurricane damage. Consider purchasing flood insurance, as standard policies typically do not cover flood damage. Assemble important personal documents so they are4 easily accessed.

Plan for Pets:
Include your pets in your emergency plan. Ensure they have proper identification, and prepare a pet emergency kit with food, water, crates and other necessities. Have a plan for evacuating large animals if needed.

Stay Informed:
Stay up-to-date with weather updates and alerts from reliable sources, such as the National Hurricane Center and local media outlets. Sign up for National Weather Service or local media emergency alerts to receive timely information.

Since we are already in the middle of Hurricane season, North Carolinians should prepare now. Early and thoughtful preparation can make a significant difference in protecting lives and property. Being proactive and staying informed, prepares everyone to face the upcoming hurricane season with greater confidence and resilience. And know that Mission Mules is also working to help where needed.

God bless!
