There are many ways to get on a c**t for the first time. Some cheat them by pulling their head around on a short rein. Some tie a foot up. And some use hobbles. All will get you on but if you have the time take the time to prepare them without cheating them. It may take a little longer but the results are worth it. Cheating a horse,to me, shows lack of confidence. I’m teaching to prepare the horse so he’s confident. Don’t hurry this process it can make all the difference on that first ride! There’s no guarantees when it comes to climbing on a horse, but preparation and time is more important than cheating them and rushing……just my opinion.
