We’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible dedication of one of our own: Barbara Wilder, who has been honored with induction into the Second Wind Hall of Fame!

Since 2022, Barbara has poured her energy and heart into volunteering at our Hee Haw Hideaway barn, logging over 1,000 hours to date! Her steadfast presence and tireless support have made such a difference to our sanctuary, especially her Hee Haw crew.

Barbara, you embody compassion in action. Thank you for every hour you’ve given, every animal you've cared for, and every moment you’ve shown up for our mission. This honor is so well deserved!

Today, we’re celebrating an extraordinary woman, our President and Founder, Mary Adams! 🎉 Mary’s unwavering strength, compassion, and leadership are nothing short of inspiring. Her vision turned a 200-acre property with nothing but a vineyard into a safe haven for over 130 special-needs equines, from miniature horses to massive drafts and everything in between. Through her tireless efforts, animals who had nowhere else to turn have found a place to heal, thrive, and be truly loved.

Mary, your strength, kindness, and tireless dedication move us every day. You are the very heart of Red Bell Run. On your birthday, we send all our love and gratitude.

It's National Farrier's Week! We want to give a heartfelt thank you to our farrier, Andy Painter. With 132 equines at the Sanctuary, each on a 4–6 week schedule, Andy is here twice a week every week, working hard to ensure our residents stay comfortable and sound.

His skill, patience, and kindness make a tremendous difference. Not just in their hooves, but in their lives. We are incredibly grateful for his dedication and the care he brings to every visit. Thank you, Andy, for all that you do.

This July we’re donating 10% of every pint sold to The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run, a local nonprofit rescuing abused, neglected, and at-risk donkeys (and a few other furry friends too). Spicy may not be thrilled about his stylish cooling neck cover, but in this extreme heat, it’s doing a great job keeping him comfortable! ☀️🧊

Heat waves can be dangerous for equines, so we’re taking every precaution to protect our herd here at The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run.

💦 Cold hosing to lower body temperature
🌳 Shady turnout areas and well-ventilated barns
🌬️ Fans to keep the air circulating
🚰 Plenty of fresh, cool water
🧂 Electrolytes to support hydration

Remember: if you’re hot, they’re hotter! Please take extra care of your horses, donkeys, and mules during these extreme temperatures.
