The Getting the most out of a training session
It all starts the same way regardless of what your final activities are going to be with your dog. you must develop a program where you establish a foundation of mutual trust, value, mutual admiration. in addition your goal in the beginning is to develop into the leader your dog deserves.
Why do training programs fail?
Most people go straight into the activity they choose and start training. This will lead to being controlling vs working as a team.
The Pre-Exercise
Create a pattern of what's coming next.
By creating a fun bonding Pre-Exercise the dog knows something fun is coming next. Build up the anticipation with high levels of enthusiasm and energy.
The Exercise
This must be rewarding and fun for the dog. It is your responsibility as a trainer to identify what is in fact fun and rewarding for the dog not just what you want the dog to do.
Post-Exercise
After the Exercise step it up a notch with even more energy to show your appreciation and that after every training session we get to do something even better!
This is just scratching the surface. To really dive deep into how to get the most out of your dog in any situation go to the www.K9-World.com website and let us develop a program together for you and your dog!
