We are pleased to announce that once again, for the fourth year in a row, Earth Angels is a 2025 sponsor of the "Clays For K9 Cancer" organization which supports the Cornell Riney K9 Health Center's research in the fight against canine cancer. Kudos go to Tom Fiumarello and his crew at the "Clays for K9 Cancer" group, the Purina organization, Cornell University, and all of our fellow donors, for their tireless devotion to the goal of finding new and better ways to treat cancer in our beloved canine friends.

On the evening of Friday, June 20th, we celebrated the year's fund raising success, along with many other donors, at the beautiful Hudson House Distillery located in West Park NY where the views of the Hudson River are nothing short of amazing!! It was a fun event filled with food, music, laughter, camaraderie, and, most of all, a shared appreciation for an important cause close to our hearts.

We want to take a few moments to remind everyone that late May thru early July is the time of the year when female turtles of all species in our region need to leave the safety of their ponds, lakes, swamps, streams, and rivers, in order to find the perfect spot to lay their eggs. Due to development, commercial and residential, in many areas the journey is often perilous as the turtles need to traverse busy roads and highways in order to get to the nesting site which is normally the place in which mama turtle was hatched.

Please exercise caution when driving through known turtle crossings. If you decide to stop and help a turtle cross a road, gently grasp it on the sides of its shell and move it in the direction in which its head is pointing as that is where it needs to go. Moving a turtle back to its original spot only increases the chance of the turtle being injured or killed by passing traffic. If trying to assist a snapping turtle, we find that the best way to avoid a "snap" while helping the turtle is to use a floormat from your vehicle in order to move the turtle along. Please DO NOT grasp a snapping turtle by the tail.

And finally, give yourself a pat on the back for a good deed!

It appears that our little Bijou is having a great time celebrating the unofficial arrival of the summer season today! But, she also realizes that in addition to the party she is hosting that Memorial Day is also a time for reflection and appreciation.

On behalf of Bijou and the rest of our Earth Angels family, we therefore send a big shoutout, "thank-you", and a "Woof", to all the members of our armed forces, past and present, who put everything on the line in the defense of our liberties and freedom. Heroes all of you.

We never tire of the wildlife that shares our 9 acre property. This particular wild turkey crew has been visiting and hanging around our front door for the past couple of weeks.

It's the end of the week, and just like dessert being the perfect end to a great meal, we have a great post to end a week designated as "National Veterinary Receptionist Week 2025."

Officially described as "...dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the important work of veterinary receptionists, who often serve as the first and last point of contact for clients in veterinary clinics," we see it as a great way to give a shout-out and "thank-you" to the greatest veterinary receptionists in the business-ours. Meet Robin, the newest member of our Earth Angels family and staff member. She picked last Friday, Valentine's Day, to stop by the hospital and introduce herself. After posing for her staff photo, she donned a pair of headphones and spent some time melting the hearts of staff and clients alike. A perfect Valentines!!

Today is "National Squirrel Appreciation Day", when we pay homage to these amazing animals that can survive anywhere from the inner city to the suburbs to the most remote of wild areas while entertaining us with their often hilarious behavior. Is there any bird feeder that can be labeled "Squirrel Proof"?!
