🌱 Cat Grass & Safe Plants – Bring a little greenery inside! Cat grass or catnip can give them a taste of nature.

Meet Rocky — a three-year-old grey tabby with a soft heart, a tough past, and a mouth in *serious* need of TLC. This handsome fella was surrendered and landed in a noisy shelter that stressed him out big time.

Once we got him into a loving foster home, we thought he’d be ready to charm his way into a forever family… but a vet visit revealed severe gum inflammation that needs full-mouth dental surgery. Yikes. The estimate? $2,500. Double yikes!

The good news? His blood work is totally normal and his future is *bright*—if we can get him the care he needs.

We’re asking our amazing supporters to help us give Rocky the pain-free, belly-rub-filled life he deserves. Kitten season is around the corner, and this unexpected cost is a big hit to our small, volunteer-run rescue.

🐾 Exciting news for pet lovers in Massachusetts! 🐾

As of yesterday, several new animal welfare laws are in effect:

1️⃣ Declawing Ban: Massachusetts becomes the fifth state to prohibit cat declawing, a procedure that involves amputating the last bone of each toe. Exceptions are made only for medical necessities. ​

2️⃣ Eight-Week Rule: The sale of puppies and kittens under eight weeks old is now illegal, ensuring they remain with their mothers during crucial early development stages. ​

3️⃣ No More Roadside Sales: Selling cats and dogs in public spaces like roadsides, parks, and flea markets is banned, protecting both animals and consumers. ​

These laws aim to promote the well-being of our furry friends and ensure responsible pet ownership. Let’s celebrate this step forward for animal rights in the Commonwealth! 🎉🐶🐱​

When rescuers found little Finley, he was barely clinging to life. Alone, weak, and in desperate need of care, his future seemed uncertain—until our incredible team stepped in. With urgent medical attention and lots of love, this tiny fighter started to turn a corner.

But Finley’s story doesn’t end there! One of our nurturing mama cats immediately took him under her wing (or paw!) as if he were her own, giving him the warmth and comfort he needed. Now, Finley is thriving, snuggled up with his new foster family and proving that love truly has no bounds.

💙 Yesterday, we told you about Finley, a tiny kitten who was barely clinging to life when our rescuers got to him.

We wrapped him in warmth and love, and gave him the urgent care he so desperately needed—fluids, gentle heat, and nourishment. At first, we weren’t sure he would make it. But deep inside, a fighter was waiting to emerge. Within hours, he was eating, moving, and proving to the world that he wasn’t giving up.

In another hour, this story might have had a very different ending, illustrating the importance of quick intervention…especially as we head into kitten season.

A Miracle in the Making: One Kitten’s Incredible Fight for Life

Last night, we got an urgent call—someone had spotted a tiny kitten in their yard. When our rescuer arrived, the kitten was frozen, listless, and barely hanging on. His gums were gray, and he wasn’t responding.

Immediate care began—warming him, giving fluids, and slowly introducing a milk replacement. At first, we weren’t sure he’d make it. But this little fighter had other plans. Within hours, he was eating more and even trying to move around!

We’ve named him Finley, a fitting moniker since its Scottish origins mean “hero” or “warrior.”

This is why rescue matters. Without intervention, Finley wouldn’t have survived. Now, thanks to dedicated rescuers and supporters like you, he has a second chance at life. 💙
