Continuing with We are FULL Friday.... 207. That's how many days Archer has called his kennel home. 207 nights and 206 mornings of not having a human to call his own. 207 days of no one saying yes that's my dog and he's a good boy! He loves the attention and care he is receiving in boarding, but nothing can top having a home. Walks, ear scratches on the porch, snuggles on the couch, lazy mornings, late nights and so much more. Archer is housebroken, walks very well on a leash, doesn't require a ton of exercise, only barks for food and hasn't been much of a chewer on things he shouldn't. He has loved every human he has met and he also loves a comfy spot to nap away the day, or to lay out in the yard getting some sun.

Archer's only hold back is he has to be the only dog. He has waited over 200 days and we agree he deserves to get all of the attention in the home. He doesn't mind sharing anything with people, but he's not a fan of sharing with other pets, including all sizes of dogs and cats.

Archer is an English Mastiff who is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, around 85lbs and about 5 years old. He's still playful and active, but also enjoys a solid place to take a long nap. If you would like meet Archer and let 207 be the last night he has no home to call his own call Raytown Animal Control at 816-737-6014, message this page or reach out to The Pet Connection. His adoption fee has been sponsored.

Today's theme is "We are FULL Friday!" This means we are at capacity and we have all of these utterly amazing dogs still waiting to find a home. A prime example is this good looking boy Hulk! He has it all! Blue eyes, beautiful white coat, a little heart on his dark nose. He does well with dogs his size or bigger. Smaller dogs and cats he can be very selective about. We have had this boy since freeze warnings back in January and he HAS to find a home soon. He was adopted and in that time we learned he's housebroken, has no real concerns, he was returned only because he barked after being left in a kennel for long periods.

Hulk is deaf and so his adopters will need to be aware of his needs with this, but honestly he's adapted so well it's hard to know he cannot hear you. Everyone thinks he's just being a typical terrier and ignoring you. He does well in a fenced yard, walks nicely on a leash. Has learned hand signals for sit and loves to snuggle.

If you would like to meet Hulk call Raytown Animal Control at 816-737-6014, message this page or reach out to The Pet Connection. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and his adoption fee has been sponsored. He even has complimentary training sessions for his new owner through The Pet Connection!

Meet the Brady's!

These three dogs were abandoned in a house last week and allowed to run loose and try to fend for themselves. All were very scared and nervous when they came in but thanks to the care they've received at Laurel Pet Resort, we have discovered these three dogs are loving and smart doggos and are available for foster or adoption, pending their spay/neuter surgeries. None of these 3 have been cat tested, but have done well with people of all ages. All dogs show signs of being housebroken and kennel well.

Bobby Brady is the youngest at 8 months old, around 45lbs, he is a puppy from Marsha. He has her loving nature and can be a bit shy at first but warms up fast and gives you a whole body wag he invites anyone to join him in doing. He's learning to walk on a leash, he's doing well with slowly being introduced to new dogs and really wants a lap to snuggle on and watch football this fall.

Thindy Brady is our pretty fawn/blue brindle girl around 3 years old and 50lbs. We aren't sure what happened to her tongue, it's very possible it was bitten by another dog in the home at some point. That doesn't slow her down from giving kisses! She loves attention, walks decent on a leash and is very responsive to everyone she meets. She has done well with dog intros, but can be a little reserved at first.

Marsha Brady is the mom of Bobby. She loves everyone she meets, any age! She happily has greeted different dogs she's been introduced to and is all around a great girl. She sits, she walks nicely on a leash and takes treats perfectly. She's around 4 years old and 45lbs.

We have taken in a high number of abandoned/cruelty dogs in the past week and are at a critical capacity point. It is dire we find fosters/adopters for several of our wonderful pets very soon.

If you would like to meet or know more about one of the Brady's reach out to Raytown Animal Control at 816-737-6014, message this page or contact The Pet Connection. Our animal control officers have done their part in getting these dogs out of a bad situation and on the road to a forever home, we need the help of the public to complete their final step to being completely safe in a loving home forever.

Thank you for all the interest in this sweet girl. We are now going through and setting up meet and greet times with potential adopters for this dog and are unable to take any more applications.

We would encourage everyone to take a look at all the wonderful dogs we have for adoption, most not having any interest for months. We are beyond capacity and it is dire some of these other amazing dogs find a foster or adopter soon.

Meet Bijou! She’s a sweet little French bulldog who is up for adoption today. She does well with all people and doesn’t mind other dogs. She has not been cat tested.

When she was taken in for her spay it was discovered her bladder was full of stones! So any prospective adopter will need to be prepared on top of all of the normal frenchie owner expenses she will also require food that will run over $100 a month, regular veterinary checks and special attention to try and prevent reoccurrence.

If you would like to meet her please call 816-737-6014.

Today is the day, the new Raytown Dog Park is opening at 11am. The park is located where the old Super Splash was, off 53rd and Raytown Rd.

Our adoptable, dog park friendly pups, Finn and Freckles will be on site to meet.

Finn is a 9 month old black/white pointer mix. Neutered, fully vaccinated, loves all sizes of dogs and kids. He has not been cat tested, but he has a very relaxed personality. He has a great start to a recall, is learning sit and walks nice on a leash.

Freckles is a 3 year old white/black dalmation mix. She is a great girl, loves other dogs and kids. She has not been cat tested. She walks nicely on a leash, knows sit/down and at least looks your way when you call her name. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Finn and Freckles knows everyone is excited about the dog park and they want to give some pointers on how to utilize the park in a safe manner with your pets.

Do not leave your pet unattended. The park is not day care for your dog. Stay, inside the fence with your dog. When you arrive, especially if your dog has never been to an off leash park, stand back from the area for a bit and see how your dog is reacting to what's going on inside. Watch the other dogs and how they are playing, is that something your dog would enjoy? If not, try again later.

Make sure your dog is current on all vaccines and puppies who have not been fully vaccinated should wait until they are to utilize the park.

If you are unsure if your dog will enjoy the experience, or may try to see if they can jump the 5ft fence, stay close by and let them drag their leash behind them. Please do not use retractable leashes, ever, but especially inside an off leash park. A 4-6ft fixed length leash is best. Please make sure your dog remains on a leash while entering and exiting the park.

Finn and Freckles hopes everyone has a good and a safe experience and they will see you out there today!
