We can be quick to label dogs as “stubborn", “naughty” or “difficult.”
But often we are only seeing the behaviour right in front of us and making an assumption of what we believe is motivating it.

These assumptions may also be influenced by external pressures and struggles that our dogs won't understand.

It is down to us to appreciate that there may be pressures and struggles for our dogs and ourselves that we don't see in the moment.

Take a moment to zoom out because when we name a behaviour too quickly, we stop ourselves from seeing all of it.

That’s where common sense, empathy and kindness come in.

With a bit of perspective, we can shift from frustration to understanding — and that’s where the real progress starts.

👉 That’s the Joint Effort.

We all came out of Covid wanting to get out and about with our dogs…

Which is totally fair. But a few years down the line, working in a pub, I hear more and more people say they feel they can’t bring their dog along.

The truth is, it’s not right for every dog — and many are much happier (and safer) left at home. But if you would like your dog to join you, a little guidance can go a long way.

That’s where Pub Ready Pups comes in: a Joint Effort between you, your dog, and your local (or that cosy pub down the road from your staycation BnB).

It’s all about making pub visits more enjoyable by prioritising your dog’s wellbeing and building confidence your own confidence.

I wasn't planning on "brand ambassador" but...

is a brand I genuinely support and believe in.

A Vet friend from my Loughborough days goes and starts a Pet Food company and not only does an incredible job of it, but (more importantly) ends up creating a product that's saved Vinnie’s guts!

Omni have a great ethos, a genuine compassion for pet health and an amazing, well substantiated product!

I'm very relieved from Vinnie and very chuffed to be able to shout about these guys, potentially help more dogs AND...

Top 3 Simple ingredients to dog ownership

No degrees, or PHDs, not being an amazing and super qualified dog trainer, no special programme on TV you watch religiously, not swallowing a million books and not being in a certain line of work with dogs e.g. Rescue, Police, Army (all of which may of course be a benefit)

But, overall it comes down to you as a person and having the ability to show these qualities

Common Sense
Empathy
Kindness

Some might be harder work for some people (my common sense can be BAD), but you don't need to over complicate it
