Ever wondered why your dog behaves the way they do? Researchers at the University of Washington have wondered the same thing, and are looking for curious dog owners to help them learn more about why some dogs seem to be skeptical of the world around them, while others think everyone is their new best friend. To help them understand more about these individual differences, we’re inviting owners to fill out a questionnaire about their dog’s behavior, and later, if selected, to bring their dog to learn a new task that will help researchers understand their thought processes a bit more.
The survey can be accessed directly here: http://uwpsychology.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4Np1IyOElmaYeWx
While researchers are interested in the full range of dog behavior, they are especially trying to recruit dogs that are fearful, or that are reactive or aggressive towards other dogs (or both!). The in-person participation is set up to accommodate dogs that are sensitive, and will be conducted with one dog at a time, so you don’t need to worry about it setting back your training if you’ve been working on your dog’s behavior.
