Eggs Anyone?

We are super excited to offer the chance for our current customers to get a farm egg share added to their CSA for FREE this year. It's simple, if you refer a friend, you get 1/2 dz. of our farm eggs every week.

(or 12 eggs every other week)
Is there any beter Easter present than free eggs?
I don't think so!

Happy Easter CSA Family!

We hope that you are enjoying the arrival of spring! Things are really rolling over here at Itty BItty Farms. As some of you might have heard we had a location change this spring but we were able to get everything settled and ready in time to start growing.

We just put tomato starts out into the greenhouse yesterday. Onions, greens, peas, and some other cold tolerant crops are already starting to peek through the soil so it is looking like we are going to have a good start on our CSA harvest this year.

I think we are the most excited for the addition of strawberries to the farm this year. We have planted over 3,000 plants and are expecting a summer long harvest for your shares as well.

Reserve your Farm Share Before they are gone!

Hey Guys,

I know I probably sound like a broken record with these emails but pretty much my only job during this time of the year is to lock in our summer CSA (farm share) sales. With the summer quickly approaching, now is the time to get your CSA reserved so you can participate in this summer's bountiful harvest.

We are planting a few new items this summer that you will definitely enjoy including: Green Beans, Potatoes, Corn, Onions and Raspberries! Along with our old favs such as: Tomatoes, Carrots, Squash, and Peppers.

We understand that it can be a hard decision to make, but a CSA is a great way to guarantee you will get the delicious summer produce your family deserves.
Spots are limited and I have about 10-12 available shares left for this year.
I am trying to fill them this week so if you have been thinking about joining a CSA program, now is the time!
Thanks so much for all your support.

Love, Emily

Ever wonder if a CSA is right for you?
..OR, have you already joined a CSA and are unsure what to expect?

In this email you will find some helpful information and tips to make this growing season, and your membership in it, a success!

There are many different ways for a community to support local agriculture and therefore many different kinds of CSAs. In the Wood River Valley most forms of CSA function as a weekly produce box or bag that has been paid for in advance and can be picked up weekly through the duration of a 18 week growing season.

The Itty Bitty Farms CSA will begin on June 11th and go until October 8th. The pick-ups will be every Wednesday at the Ketchum Farmers Market or a location in Hailey or Carey. Most CSAs use the local farmers marekts as handy locations for their members to pick up their produce.

CSAs as a structure are particularly helpful to small and local farmers because of the commitment that community members have to make upfront. CSA shares are usually sold in the winter or early spring and allow the farmers to use the income from the sales of those shares to purchase important equipment and supplies needed for the growing year. Often, without the ability to sell a portion of their yearly production ahead of time to CSA share members, a small farmer will struggle to meet some of the upfront costs required to grow and improve their farm year after year.

So what does it cost and what does an average share look like? Good questions. Most CSA programs range between $400 -$600 depending on the length of the season. Many of the Wood River Valley CSAs fall around the $500 mark with half sizes sometimes being available. Itty Bitty Farms' CSA for 2025 is $400 and comes in one size.
But how much produce is included each week? That is a harder question to answer as the structure of a CSA means that what you are paying for is a share in the harvest, not a guaranteed amount or type of produce. You and the farmers are sharing in the gains and losses, as well as the eb and flow of the harvest season so each week can be drastically different and some years are harder than others. We usually are able to get 10-15 lbs of produce in each box, with larger shares being sent out in the height of the growing season around late July- early August.

Maybe the most important question of all is What are you going to so with all those veggies? Easy, we will have weekly emails sharing cooking tips, storage guides, and preservation mini classes to help you make good use of all the delicious bounty. We know that life can get away from us and sometimes creating new habits can be hard. We want you to know that Itty Bitty Farms will support your CSA journey every step of the way and make the experience a super positive one, no matter what the season throws our way.

There are many great CSA options throughout the Wood River Valley. All are slightly different but provide a great service and oppertunity to support local growers.

Growing with us

We’ve been a growing family since 2011 and a growing farm since 2017 when we purchased land, put up a greenhouse, and built a chicken yard, completing our vision of a family farmstead where we could grow high quality produce for our family and neighbors.

Our education and background in agriculture and passion for plants lead us into this fulfilling and sustainable lifestyle. Sharing the joy of fresh produce with our friends and community is just icing on the carrot cake.

Our four young children love to help prepare, plant, harvest, and sort with us. This is truly a family business built on the dreams of a young and hopeful couple, growing more than just vegetables.
