Meet Chives & Scallion
These little onions and their siblings were dumped into our farm leads yard this summer when they were only about 6 weeks old.
Unfortunately the kittens were discovered by the dogs. Before anything could be done, one kitten had passed. Scallion was in the dog’s mouth and was released immediately upon command. Chives and her (already adopted) sister, Garlic, were found in the bushes.
Scallion’s pelvis and back legs were injured in his encounter with the dogs. Our veterinarian’s placed him on cage rest for a few weeks. Even when he was recovering, he and his sisters were trying to play with each other. After about 3 weeks of rest he began to bear weight on his back legs again. He has recovered from his injuries, but still has a wide stance to his back legs. He has a bit of a bowed-legged look, but is able to run and jump just fine. He is an adorable cuddly curious neutered tabby male. He likes to play and run but also displays a bit more calmness than his sisters.
Chives and her recently adopted sister, Garlic, were found hiding in the bushes around the yard. Fleas and ticks were feeding on these tiny kittens weighing in at only around one pound. They were easily scared at first, but quickly began to develop trust and become more brave. They began to thrive in their foster home. They spent their summer playing with children and other cats. They’ve been around well behaved dogs since their first encounter but keep their distance. Chives can still startle easily, but she quickly recovers. Her curiosity wins out and she needs to explore everything. She is a very loving playful spayed female. She has a sleek silver coat with adorable white socks.
