Gill may never know the lives he's saved—but we do. ❤️
At just 4 years old, Gill, a handsome Golden Retriever, has already become a hero. Through multiple blood donations, Gill has helped save the lives of other dogs facing emergencies, surgeries, trauma, and life-threatening illnesses. When a beloved pet needs a blood transfusion, there isn't time to wait. Having canine blood available can mean the difference between life and death.
The truth is, there is a nationwide shortage of canine blood donors. Every single donation has the potential to save up to three lives. Somewhere, a family is getting extra time with their best friend because of dogs like Gill.
Imagine receiving the call that your dog needs an emergency blood transfusion. Now imagine hearing, "We have blood available." That's the gift our blood donor dogs provide every day—a second chance, a wagging tail coming home, and more memories with the pets we love so dearly.
At Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital, we are always looking for new canine heroes to join our blood donor program. If your dog is:
Young and healthy
50 pounds or more
Has a calm, friendly temperament
We would love to talk with you about whether they may qualify to become a blood donor.

Gill doesn't ask for recognition. He just shows up, gives a little, and helps another dog get the chance to grow old with the people who love them most. We think that's pretty extraordinary.
Because sometimes, the greatest superheroes have four paws and a golden heart. 🐾❤️
