Meet Dominic: Your Sweet & Mischievous Senior Sidekick

Hey there! I’m Dominic, the sweet senior kitty you’ve been waiting for. I’ve been in foster care for Mabel’s Orphaned Angels Rescue (Chesapeake Beach, Maryland) for what feels like forever, but I’m ready to settle down in a home where I can share all my love and mischievous charm. Here’s the deal: I may be a senior, but that just means I’m all about the snuggles, not the running around like a crazy kitten breaking valuables and ruining furniture.

Likes:
Cuddles (I'm a lap cat, through and through—soft blankets are a must)
Wand toys (I may be sneaky, but I know how to have fun)
Wet food (twice a day, please, and I'll give you a little love bite if you don’t serve it fast enough)
Hanging out with my humans (I’m a social butterfly, always happy to be around you)

Obsessions:
Crocs, plastic bags, and feather toys (don’t leave these things around me... trust me, I’ll find them)

A little about me:
I’m diabetic, but that just means I’m extra special. I’m good with my 2-4 times a day BG testing and insulin shots. Don’t worry—I’m a pro at it, and I’ll make it easy for you.

I’m a gentle, loving boy and would be great with other cats, dogs, and even kids. I’m all about family!

I’m a bit sneaky around food, so if you have any tasty treats, make sure they’re safely stored—I’ll figure out how to get to them if not!

I’m looking for a foster-to-adopt home where I can just relax, get my insulin (like the good boy I am), and be showered with love and attention. If you’re ready to add a sweet, mischievous companion to your life, I’d love to meet you.

Folks, we need your help!! We've spent about $5,000 in the first half of the year on kitties like Socks and Rosie, but donations haven't keep anywhere near that pace. Can you help us make sure DCIN can support these precious babies?

Socks' mom is herself in a hard spot medically and finds herself without the means to take care of her baby. We got him the vet care he desperately needed along with some cat food. We don't normally provide cat food assistance, but when the person is actively choosing between feeding themselves or feeding their kitty, DCIN is going to choose to help feed the kitty!

Rosie was a sweet girl whose mama doted on her. Recently, she had begun to hide, not eat well, and suffer from hard-to-control blood glucose. Sadly, we discovered that Rosie likely was dealing with cancer as well as diabetes, and her mom made the painful and courageous decision to help Rosie cross over the Bridge. Testing and hospitalization is not inexpensive, nor is humane euthanasia.

DCIN really needs your help to refill our coffers so we can continue to help babies like Socks and Rosie! Even a dollar helps. Letting people know about our work helps. Anything you can do, we truly appreciate. Thank you for caring! ~Amy
