As a result, bacterial numbers double or triple, not because they caused more plant substrate to become available but because they were provided more substrate access by the fungi. What does this mean to your livestock? Well it's a whole host of things that increases the work in the digestive system of our animals- increase in fungal response to the fiber break down, then digestive bacteria become healthier and more abundant allowing better and more effcient breakdown of the feedstuffs in digestion.
