Five years, my friends.
For five years I've been caring for Monty every couple of months and no matter what I did, no matter what treats, floor crawls or slow blinks I offered he's been terrified of me and hiding in a closet.
Occasionally I'd catch him out of it because I tip-toed and he didn't have time to hide.
This was followed by a scramble and a mad dash back to his safe space.
Well.
Three nights ago he was out. I offered my hand. He scratched me, but didn't run (too soon , Shannon. I got excited. My bad.)
Two nights ago he was out. We sat in comfortable silence.
Today he was out. He took a treat from me.
...
Don't ever give up on the hard ones.
Every animal deserves the chance to be loved and understood and trust me, if your pet has been labeled "difficult" by others it's an honor to be the one you trust to care for them.
Now, for the first time on the PawSau Page , may I present the full body (not just the hissing head) of Monty.
Good morning. 🧡
