Have you ever wondered how a flamingo can eat upside down—or why it stomps its feet while dining?

They eat upside down and stomp their feet on purpose, and it turns out it’s all about making tiny whirlpools! When they bob their heads, their curved bills create mini “tornadoes” that swirl up food. Even their chattering pulls snacks closer.

And those stomps? Their webbed toes push tasty treats right toward their mouths. Now you know why they face their feet when they eat—built-in food delivery! 🍽️

The Badger Rock Community Market and Farm Stand returns every other Sunday afternoon from 1:00-5:00. Featuring local vendors, pop-up food, the Badger Rock Farm Stand, in-person community workshop, and fun for the whole family! SNAP is accepted, and reusable bags are provided.

To access the event, enter through the doors marked “Badger Rock Center” on the side of the building facing Badger Park, next to the Southside Elementary playground.

2:00pm in-person workshop: Making Pickled Okra, Green Beans, and Cucumbers, AND Making Nervous System Support Tea, with Kaylin Brennan.
Vendors: Cha-Cha's, Sweets by Sweet, Sweetologist, Designs by Evon Ball, DeAdore - Clothing, Whipoorwill - Floral, Tanay Rivera - Jewelry, and the Badger Rock Farm Stand.

Mineral Point is a small Wisconsin town filled with history, creativity, and a big personality.

Start your day at Wild Blue Yonder Café for a light bite, a full breakfast, or lunch.

Take time to explore early Wisconsin historic sites and learn the stories these buildings would tell you if they could talk. Historic buildings are treasured here. Many have been renovated to accommodate modern uses while still preserving the Cornish architectural heritage.

For shopping and dining, stroll downtown around Main Street or take a drive around town to soak in the charm of 19th century architecture built by early residents and restored by modern craftsmen. Discover wonderful, handcrafted items from potters and painters, weavers and woodworkers, printmakers and photographers, glass artists and jewelry designers, pizza chefs and musicians.

Don’t forget to stop by Eliza’s Lounge, a converted mid-century bar & 1930s bowling alley with craft cocktails, great food & entertainment. In fact, Boo Mullarky is playing tonight starting at 8pm.

This adorable little guy is Tiger! He came in for a nail trim and got all the love and attention from all of us in the back. I mean, how could we resist?!

When you get down on his level, he gets really excited and gives happy little kisses!
He was a perfect boy for his nail trim as well.
