ANNOUNCEMENT:
To all of our amazing volunteers, fosters, adopters, supporters, followers and friends,
As 2016 draws to a close, so does H.A.R.T.
This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one.
After nearly 8 awesome years, it is time to say goodbye.
Thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers, H.A.R.T. has been active in our community since 2009, and saved nearly 2000 dogs and cats.
We've touched many lives, and made many memories.
There have been countless smiles, much laughter, and numerous tears. Thousands of miles traveled in the H.A.R.T. van filled with dogs, many adoption events, and many fantastic fundraisers. We've built friendships, and partnerships with some amazing business owners in our community.
And every single moment has been worth it.
BAM (Because Animals Matter) in Hurricane has graciously accepted our request to absorb H.A.R.T's responsibilities and assets. We have worked closely with BAM over the last several years, and we feel that the transition will be a comfortable one for all of our volunteers, fosters, and donors. We are grateful to BAM for the immense kindness and love extended to us during this time.
Thank you to everyone who has stood by us. We couldn't have done it without all of you. You are amazing. And we will miss you.
With tears in our eyes, but smiles in our hearts as we cherish every memory, we say goodbye.

Update: This was posted over a year ago. :) Mello has been adopted.

Mello is in need of immediate rescue. He is currently at the St George Shelter (southern Utah).
He has been there for too long and is going kennel crazy. He needs out of the shelter environment and into rescue where he can be in a foster home.
Mello is a 2 yr old Pitbull/Heeler mix. He is good with other dogs and eager to please his person. His anxiety in his shelter kennel is manifested by intense spinning non stop, but it seems to go away immediately once he is put in a different environment.
Are there any rescues with open foster space able to take in this sweet boy?

Have you ever wondered what goes into food prep for Jericho? Just a little extra time and effort to make his meals. Canned food and water in the blender with added high calorie supplements.
We make two full pitchers at a time which lasts a little less than a week.
We have Jericho's Angels from here all the way to the east coast, who help him out by providing for his medical needs, food, and supplements. (You know who you are and we love you!!!)

Archer is not doing well in a shelter environment and needs immediate rescue. Please click his photo here and watch the videos in the comments. This has now become URGENT. My Sgt. has advised me that Archer needs to be placed ASAP. Due to his behavior behind the gate he is a liability here at the shelter for the public. He will benefit in a foster home, or in a setting where he does not need to be in a dog run.

This is Archer. Archer is about 1 year old and appears to be a Border Collie mix. He has quite a bit of energy, but he is very well behaved. His only down fall here at the shelter is when he is behind his gate he will get overly stimulated by other dogs walking past, or when other dogs are barking and getting excited when people come to see them. He will bare his teeth and bark like crazy at people. Unfortunately when he was doing this a citizen thought it was a good idea to stick his hand in front of his kennel, which resulted in Archer reaching through and biting him.

Archer is NOT an aggressive dog, and has not displayed any aggressive behavior. This bite resulted because of him being overly excited. When he is out of his kennel with people, and other dogs are around he does not act like this. He is good with other dogs, as long as they can tolerate his puppyness.

I cannot put him back for adoption for fear of him doing this again, and obviously being a shelter he will be behind a gate. I feel that Archer’s best option is a foster home. If anyone can help please let me know, or if there may be a potential adopter looking for a dog like him close by please send them to the St. George Animal Shelter.

ADOPTABLE: MAMA ROSIE
Rosie was a wonderful, attentive mother to her six beautiful puppies. She has now been spayed and is ready to find her own forever home. Rosie is a small redbone coonhound mix.
She is a very sweet and loving girl.
When she first came to us, she was frightened of being touched. She quickly learned that she LOVES humans and affection and now just can't get enough. She absolutely loves belly rubs and wishes she was small enough to be a lap dog. Rosie does great on a leash and loves to get out and go for walks. She is great with meeting new people and warms right up to them. Rosie is great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She is crate trained and does really well sleeping in her crate at night. After all this girl has been through, she deserves a loving forever home. Could that be you?
Spayed, current on vaccines, and will be microchipped before adoption.
Adoption fee is $125.

Zion and Goblin are still waiting for their forever homes! Awesome pups, great personalities. Good with other dogs, cats, and kids. Know how to use a doggie door, still working on being 100% housebroken, but they're close!
About 5 months old, we are guessing Corgi/Cattle dog mix. These boys are long little low riders. :)
Neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $150.

Update: Grizz still in need of foster!

URGENT. Immediate foster home needed.
Grizz has been returned to us, and we do not have an available foster home for him. He is a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, almost a year old. Please let us know if you are able to open your home to a temporary guest for a little while.
Grizz is great with other dogs, cats, and adores kids. Housebroken, neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
He is available for adoption.

Fun summertime opportunity! Temporary FOSTERS NEEDED!
Do your kids want something fun to do while school is out? Give them the opportunity to play with a puppy (or two) for just over a week. All the fun without the long term responsibility!
Current foster mom will be gone for family reunion June 14 till june 22, so these 6 Houndie babies need a place to stay during that time. You can take one or two, we provide everything necessary, you provide the love!
