WoooooHooooo, today is World Lion Day!
Lions are the second largest big cat species worldwide. Tigers are the largest!
They live in groups called prides. They are the only big cat that lives is a social family group like ours.
A lion’s lifespan is about 10-14 years in the wild.
Only male lions have manes. Their manes protect them during a skirmish and attract the females. The darker the mane, the more attractive to the girls.
A lion's roar can be heard for five miles!
Aesa and Gaia, our females and Sango and Jelani, our males, are our lions. We are thrilled to have them as part of our animal family.
Come see us today and come early. We are open until 6:00pm, admission closes at 5:00pm.
Be sure to stop by our lion's habitats and wish them a Happy World Lion Day!
