Our Story
We specialize in bottle feeding, tube feeding and caring for kittens that most times weigh only a few ounces.Our kitties live in a home-like environment until they are adopted. When necessary we have kittens examined and advised on by our local county veterinarian. Conditions for adoption are pets must be allowed at your residence, you may be required to show proof that the apartments or landlord will allow cats indoors. We would rather the kitten live indoors but it is not a requirement. We do require the kitten to be spayed or neutered by 9 months of age. Each kitten is sent home with an Adoption Bag, containing their favorite toy, a sample of cat treats, a small bag of food that they are eating at the time, whenever possible we include coupons for food, litter or any other offers we can find. The kittens that come to us are usually found (on a porch, under someone’s deck, on constructions sites), but some are rescued (usually because mom disappeared or hit by a car), and a few have been abandoned at veterinary clinics and shelters. We do not accept kittens from breeders, pet stores or pet owners. We will take some older kittens depending on their situation We often have to estimate a kitten’s age, the date we give you for their birth day will be the day in which we receive them. In addition, we do not have complete information about the kitten’s history prior to our beginning to care for him/her. We will accept kittens from individuals other than animal control, local shelters or veterinarians and there is a required fee of $20 per kitten to place with us, some price breaks are offered for litters of 3 or more, this fee allows us to purchase the formula, kitten food, and litter, it in no way covers 100% of the cost but it does help with the cost of their needs. Formula feeding 1 kitten for 6 weeks costs $40, kitten food is $25, litter $35, $10 toys/blankets/cleaning supplies/bottles/nipples/feeding tubes/kennels, vaccinations and vet care with prescriptions when necessary can range from $15-$75 so as you can see the the surrender fee in no way covers all the costs of raising the kitten until it is old enough to be adopted out. Every kitten gets individual loving attention to it's physical and emotional well-being throughout his/her development. Because they have been bottle-fed, our kittens are highly socialized to human beings. Whenever possible, they are socialized to other kittens, cats and dogs. All of our kittens have been treated for parasites (worms, ear mites, ticks, fleas); any medically necessary treatments or medication; bathed weekly with an anti-fungal shampoo for ringworm and the kitten can receive it’s first set of vaccinations if they are still with us at 14 weeks of age at the time of adoption for $10. Adoption fees are $25 per non-spayed / non-neutered kitten, some specials for 2, adoptions are limited to 2 kittens per home within a 3 year period. Adoption fees for neutered males and spayed females is $50. State of Texas requires tax to be charged on all adoption fees, it is an addition to the above fees at 8.25 %. We do reserve the right to refuse an adoption and will remove the animal from your care if we suspect the animal is in danger or going to be used in an unlawful way. We encourage interested parties to visit the kittens as many times as they like when making their decision on which kitten is best for them. We are not in the business of making money, we are in the business of saving kittens and finding them the best possible home for them. If you aren't connecting with a kitten, wait and come back another day, it's important to find the right match for your family.
