Tank is our Pet of the Week this Week!
From now until the end of the day, Sunday July 20th, Tank can be adopted for only $50, half the regular adoption fee. The fee includes neuter, microchip, heartworm test and all of the vaccinations.
Tank came in with his brother Tigger on June 1st, 2024, found running loose. He and his brother had a history of getting out due to an improper yard. Tank was adopted in August 2024 and was found loose again and was never reclaimed by his adopters even after multiple attempts to contact them. This guy can't catch a break! Here at the shelter, he has done very well and has not gotten out of the yard, he just doesn't like to be left alone for too long and understandably so.
Tank is a big baby, he loves all people and if he had it his way, he would spend the whole day with his family and would be content.
Tank does amazing on a leash, he has made some serious progress since he left the shelter! He is fantastic with any dog he meets and has done wonderfully in large play groups with other dogs.
Tank is longing to get out of the shelter and be with a family who understands him and can accept him for his big physic and even bigger personality.
Come meet Tank today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Star is our Pet of the Week this Week!
Today is the last day to adopt Star for only $50, half the normal adoption fee. The fee includes spay, microchip, heartworm test and all of the vaccinations.
Star came into the shelter May 28th, surrendered with her 4 other sisters, no fault of their own, they were just an accidental litter, and the owner was unable to rehome them all on their own.
This little lady puts a smile on her face when she meets new people, definitely the epitome of a star! Her kid skills are ok, she is just a little shy at first with them, she’s not sure what to make of a tiny human but we are confident with some time to adjust, she would be ok in a home with kids.
She has been doing well with her leash training, her only issue right now is she tends to jump with excitement when she is on the leash, but she is working on it. While she doesn’t know any obedience yet, she is very smart and quickly understands commands so with a little work she should be a pro at the basics.
Our team says that their favorite things about Star is that she smiles, she is sweet as can be and she will cuddle.
Come meet Star today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

We have had a lot of calls about people needing to rehome their pets. While we provide the best care to all of our resident dogs and cats, the shelter should always be the last option for your pet as we do get full and we have to have room for stray animals as well. Please know that we are a managed intake facility in regard to surrenders and if you are looking to rehome your pet the first step when we talk to you will be offering resources for rehoming or possibly even helping with the issue that is causing you to rehome. You will also be put on a waiting list as a just in case the rehoming resources do not find an outcome that is outside of the shelter. We have found that many people have found solutions for their pets this way and they never have to step foot in a shelter. Home to home is always better than coming to a busy shelter so we appreciate everyone that takes the time and effort to rehome on their own. You know you pet best so you are the best person for the job when it comes to advocating for them. Here are some tips for rehoming if you find you can no longer care for your pet.

Marble is our Pet of the Week this Week!
Today is the last day to adopt Marble for only $50, half the normal adoption fee. The fee includes spay, microchip, heartworm test and all of the vaccinations.
Marble came into the shelter May 28th, surrendered with her 4 other sisters, no fault of their own, they were just an accidental litter, and the owner was unable to rehome them all on their own.
Marble is a dream with kids! She is a little shy meeting new people but for whatever reason, she is not shy with the kiddos. Adults, she just needs a bit of warming up and then she will melt like butter. She has taken to leash walking very well and gets better every day. She loves her biscuits, this girl is treat motivated!
The staff says their favorite characteristics for Marble are that she is very playful and oh so silly!
Come meet Marble today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.
