Obstipation, on the other hand, needs more aggressive treatments such as laxatives and an e***a under sedation or anesthesia.

In dogs, constipation is a fairly common problem. It is usually caused by their diet, especially if they eat things they should not! Another possible cause is a lack of exercise - many dogs are unable to move their bowels properly without exercise.

Simple constipation can often be resolved with a mild laxative and a change in diet. If the cause is lack of exercise, treatment is easy enough – get him out more! Better yet, while on your walk attaching the Poochy to your dogs tail actually helps stimulate movement in their bowels.
