Heartworm Treatment Capacity Doubles At Emancipet!! 🐾

Emancipet, the nation’s leading nonprofit provider of affordable and accessible veterinary healthcare is expanding its heartworm treatment services in Houston. Starting this month, Emancipet will now offer heartworm treatment at its Monroe Clinic, in addition to its existing services at the Wayside Clinic. This expansion will double the number of dogs served with heartworm treatment annually in Houston, ensuring that more pets receive the life-saving care they need.
Heartworm disease is a life-threatening condition caused by a parasite spread through mosquito bites. Left untreated, it can lead to severe lung disease, heart failure, and organ damage in dogs. With treatment costs starting at $225, Emancipet continues to provide an affordable solution for pet owners facing this challenging diagnosis.

This grant helped us expand care for hundreds of thousands of pets and pet families in need 💙

Impact Austin gave Emancipet its first grant ever back in 2006. This was our first significant grant from an Austin funder, and it was transformative in so many ways. It was a moment of going from grassroots to starting to see a future as a professional veterinary provider.

Happy National Pet Vaccination Month! 💉

Milky got his vaccines this month and our caring Vet Tech Allison made sure he felt safe and loved. 💙 

We’re so grateful to for their grant funding, which allows us to provide supported vaccines and low-cost care to our communities.

Last year, we administered over 300,000 vaccines in Central Texas, Philly, and Houston. With ’s help, we’re committed to caring for hundreds of thousands more pet families in 2025!
