At Decatur Animal Clinic we provide compassionate care for the pets of the Decatur area. We only see surgical appointments on Tuesdays.

From puppies and kittens to senior and geriatric pets, we focus on caring for the whole pet including comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Our walk-in hours are:
Monday from 8:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-5:00pm,
Wednesday from 8:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-5:00pm,
Friday from 8:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-4:30pm,
Saturday from 8:30am-11:30am. We are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.

To my Clients and Friends,

Many of you have noticed that I missed a lot of work this winter and have had to adjust our clinic hours and reschedule surgery appointments. Several people have asked my staff and me about my health lately. I appreciate the concern and would like to let you know that I am fine. In January, my beautiful wife was diagnosed with lymphoma. She was hospitalized for weeks and is currently receiving treatment. Her prognosis is very good, and I am proud of how brave, strong and determined she is. My recent look is supportive of her.

I am sorry for the inconvenience that my absences have caused and would like to thank my friend, Dr. Brenda Wisdom for being so generous with her time to fill in for me. My staff is always exceptional, and I cannot thank them enough for all they do.

As always, I am grateful for our clients, for their support of our clinic and their trust in me to care for their loved ones. Thank you for your continued support.
This summer we will be closed most Fridays after noon. Please call ahead if coming on Fridays.

The clinic will not have a doctor this Friday, 1/31/25, and we are unsure if we will have a doctor Saturday, 2/1/25.

We have been without a doctor several times recently, and Dr. Messamore apologizes for any inconveniences this has caused. Decatur Animal Clinic is a 1 doctor, family owned business and unfortunately that means our services are limited when he is unable to be here. Dr. Messamore has been attending an urgent family matter and has been in the office as much as possible. He and the rest of the staff appreciate your continued support and thank you for your understanding at this time.
