If you’ve ever wondered why your pups are coming home with their bones in their bags yet this is why.
We love giving the pups big and small treats but prefer to play on the safe side. There are a ton of healthy options for treats, we have noticed a lot of dogs love freeze dried protein treats!
While dogs naturally want to chew on bones, bones are dangerous and can cause serious problems for your dog. Bones are very hard and can cause a broken tooth. Round bones can get looped around the lower jaw and become stuck. Broken pieces of bones can be very sharp and cut the mouth. Just as sharp bone fragments can damage the mouth, they can also damage the walls of the stomach and intestines. It is even possible for bone fragments to completely pe*****te the walls of the stomach or intestine causing a life-threatening abdominal infection. Bones can get stuck in the stomach or cause a blockage in the intestinal tract. A complete blockage is an emergency and requires surgical removal of the obstruction. It is better to play it safe and not allow dogs to chew on bones.
