Did you know that the tiny vertical groove between a dog’s nose and upper lip actually has a purpose? It’s called the vegetal groove (or philtrum), and it’s not there by accident!

Each time a dog licks its lips, a bit of saliva collects in that groove. Through a process called capillarization, the moisture travels up to the nose — helping keep it damp.

And why does that matter? Because a moist nose is much better at capturing and holding scents from the air. 🌬️✨ That’s part of what makes a dog’s sense of smell so incredibly powerful!

Nature’s design is always so clever, isn’t it? 🐕💛

Happy hUmP dAy everyone!!

Our next round of classes will be starting the week of September 22nd.
There are a few spots left but openings are limited.

For new clients and beginner level current clients:
As of this posting, there are...
2 spots open in my 4:00 Monday evening beginners obedience class.
4 spots open in my 4:00 Tuesday Reactive Dog class.

For returning clients there is:
1 spot open in working/sport dog class.
3 spots open in my electric collar class (dog unleashed).
1 spot open in my intermediate obedience class. Currently this class shows full but there was an accidental sign up that I will be adjusting soon so contact me if you are interested in this spot and have completed my beginners obedience class.

I don't know how this sweet and stunning girl is STILL looking for her forever home, but she is.
She is a great dog who comes with a fantastic start to her obedience training. She is steady and very easy to have around.
Where are those Husky lovers!?!?

Day trainer camp dogs day two.
These boys are all so much fun!
Thor the Golden is here to lay foundations for basic obedience and work on his basic manners. He is incredibly handsome, sweet and loves to work.
Duke, the German Shepherd is one of my all time favs and has been rocking his off leash obedience.
Orzo, the Lagotto Romangalo is here for confidence building. This sweet boy is afraid of everything and everyone. Today he gave me several happy tail wags and greeted me at the dog run gate and crate door, three things he absolutely did not do yesterday.
Sam, the Border Collie is here for e collar foundations. He's a cool dude and he's coming very nicely in his training.

More training at Riverside Park today with my day training camp dogs. Liberty, the Rottweiler and Willow the Doodle.
Liberty is working hard on her reactivity around dogs and she's doing such a great job. Willow is working on her down stay in close proximity to strangers, kids and unknown (to her) dogs and killin it.
