SPANAWAY UPDATE

Most of you should already be aware, as we made every attempt to contact existing clients by phone or text--The Spanaway location at 21006 Mountain Highway E is permanently closed. We are looking for a new home but in the meantime, we will be operating out of the parking lot of the Spanaway United Methodist Church (Thank you so much Pastor Samara and Board of Trustees!!). The address is 135 163rd St S. The cross street is Pacific Avenue.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE

We apologize in advance for the inconvenience: The Pet Food Bank will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2025.

Since there are five Mondays in September, we are simply going to push your scheduled day back one week. Normal hours 12 to 3.

1st Monday clients will come on September 8
2nd Monday clients will come on September 15
3rd Monday clients will come on September 22
4th Monday clients will come on September 29

We sincerely apologize but due to a staffing shortage, the PSPFB Tacoma location will NOT be open on Saturday, June 14.

Tacoma 2nd Saturday clients may come on Monday, June 16 between 12-3 to get food or on Saturday, June 21 between 9 and 1. This is a makeup day for 2nd Saturday clients only.

THANK YOU, thank you for your donations! However, as you can see from the pictures, we are not the only ones who appreciate your generosity. 🐭🦝 So PLEASE do not leave bags of food or treats on our front porch. If you are not able to come by when we are open, please consider Pet Pros. The Bonney Lake, Milton, Puyallup and Tacoma stores all have donation bins and collect on our behalf.

The Pet Food Bank needs donations - our cupboard is bare! We are helping an average of 275 families and 850 pets monthly between the Tacoma & Spanaway locations. The low-income housing facilities add an additional 60+ families and 85+ pets. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: NIBBLE FOR KIBBLE 2025 CANCELLATION

We regret to inform you that, due to low attendance and donations, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our annual fundraiser, Nibble for Kibble, scheduled for Sunday, May 18 from 2 to 5 at the Allenmore Golf Course & Event Center.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please know we did not make this decision lightly, but only after carefully considering the number of registrations and the time and resources required to host a successful event.

We are exploring other options, such as an online event to offer the items generously donated by local businesses. We will keep you updated on this and other potential fundraising.

We are excited to ring in the New Year with some wonderful news! Thanks to the KIRO News, and more recently, the News Tribune pieces about our situation in Tacoma, two amazing donors have stepped in and offered to cover our rent and utilities for the next six to eight months!! And the property owners have graciously agreed to allow us to stay.

So, we will resume operations in Tacoma, starting on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Our hours and schedule will be the same as before: 2nd and 4th Saturday every month from 9 to 1. Monday services will start again on January 13; the hours will be 12 to 3.

Noah’s Pet Project will also be able to continue to provide their wellness program at the Tacoma location in 2025.

With our continued growth, we will still need a new home, but this allows us time to find the right spot, as we are looking to add a third partner at our new home …. more to come on that!
