The dynamic duo Turbo & Dottie have been adopted — together! 🐾❤️

These sweet siblings now have a forever home where they can keep doing everything side by side: zoomies, snuggles, and all the love their new family can handle. We couldn’t be happier for them!

🚨 Trending Lies Told About Our Adoptable Dogs 🚨

We’ve seen the rumors… and we’re here to set the record straight. The internet is full of LIES — just look what they’re saying about our adoptable pups:

🐾 Daisy: “She’s just a pretty face.” LIE. She’s a certified cuddle expert with a master's degree in couch warming.
🐾 Aztec: “Too cool to care.” WRONG. This gentle soul is all love — literally and emotionally.
🐾 Rex: “Probably part raccoon.” FALSE. Just because he’s clever and always finding treats doesn’t mean he’s trashy.
🐾 Ernie: “He’s secretly in the witness protection program.” MAYBE… but that just makes him mysterious.
🐾 Roper: “Cowboy name, cowboy attitude.” Nope. He’s all about snuggles, not rodeos.
🐾 Madeline: “Once a mom, always in mom mode.” Untrue — she’s living her best post-mom life, one treat at a time.
🐾 Shatzi: “Looks too fancy to get dirty.” LOL. Mud puddles are her love language.
🐾 Redmond: “Reads poetry under moonlight.” MAYBE… but only if snacks are involved.
🐾 Orion: “Named after a constellation because he’s out of this world.” OK FINE, THAT ONE’S TRUE.
🐾 Turbo & Dottie: “Only come as a pair to cause trouble.” False. They come as a pair to double the love.
🐾 Bailey: “Twelve pounds of drama.” FALSE. He’s twelve pounds of pure loyalty and sass.
🐾 Bella: “Returned for being too perfect.” Facts. But still, she’s ready to try again.
🐾 Cupid & Comet: “Only show up for the holidays.” Lies. They’re here 24-7 to love YOU.

🌸 Hyacinth Was Adopted! 🌸

Our sweet girl Hyacinth has found her forever home — and it’s a dream come true! She now has three little two-legged siblings to grow up with, love, and protect. 💕👧👦👦

We can already picture the adventures, cuddles, and lifelong bonds they’ll share. Wishing Hyacinth and her beautiful new family all the love and joy in the world! 🐾

🎉🐾 Adoption Update: Lexus Has Found Her People! 🐾🎉

Our sweet, squishy girl Lexus (aka Lex or Kitty Kitty) has officially been adopted! This Catahoula/Lab mix with the signature straight-line face has rolled right into the perfect home.

She now has a four-legged sister to romp around with and a tiny two-legged brother to protect and snuggle. From belly rubs to playtime, Lex is already living the good life—and we couldn’t be happier for her!

Congratulations, Lex! Your forever family was worth the wait. 💗🐶👶🐾

ADOPTION UPDATE FROM RIO!

Rio passed his first trip in flying colors. 11 states, 47 days, and everyone absolutely adored him. We spent 10 days on a Minnesota Farm with cows, Pigs donkeys and horses and he was at home off leash and a perfect gentleman always…… I think he has farm experience!!!

He has a month at home before New England by Boat!

Tears welled up in my eyes this morning as I did my daily rounds through the shelter.
The weight is heavy today.

The dog days of summer have arrived in full force—and they’re hitting us hard. Our shelter is full. Adoptions are slow. Many of our large dogs have been with us for weeks… even months. Right now, we’re caring for 79 animals.

We're managing quarantines for strays, creating makeshift isolation areas, and this week, we discovered beetles in some of our donated pet food—forcing us to throw much of it away.

Our staff is tired.
Not from a lack of love—but from the weight of caring so deeply.
They continue to show up every day with compassion, sweat, and fierce determination for the animals who depend on us.

I wanted to reach out to you—our community.

If you’ve ever adopted, donated, fostered, volunteered, or simply appreciated the work of animal shelter staff, would you leave them a kind word below?
