We would like to offer our warmest congratulations to Abby Pedersen on the purchase of Jagger!

Jagger is a true product of the Twisted Z program. From picking out a stallion for our mare, halter breaking, groundwork, starting under saddle and showing - he is a true representation of start to finish from our program.

Abby joined the Twisted Z lesson program a short time ago and started using Jagger for a few lessons. They formed a strong bond right from the start and it was a match meant to be. I cannot wait to continue to work with this duo and see what they can do next season!

Champ Show 2025 Recap!

It was a great show at a new location. Shout out to the WSCA Board, Volunteers and Judges for all your work planning the change of location and keeping the show moving. Thank you for making the best of the situation and putting on a great show.

Here are some highlights from the Twisted Z Show Crew:

🔥Stella S and Chip🔥
Lesson student and boarder, Stella S, had a great 1st WSCA Champ Show! Her and her horse, Chip, started off the weekend on a strong note with a 2nd place finish in PeeWee Speed Dash! They had some tough luck with knocks and a couple miscommunications in their other classes, but they managed to bring home a 10th place ribbon in Jumping Figure 8 as well - an event they have been struggling with at the end of this season. Way to go Stella and Chip! We cannot wait to see what you two do next year!

🔥Ireland and Lacey🔥
Ireland joined us on Monday for her birthday and to ride Lacey on our 4-in-a-line team. She helped the team secure a 2nd place finish! She hasn't run Lacey other than qualifying since last year so she did an excellent job sticking with her and keeping up the quick pace.

🔥Ashley and Lacey🔥
8th place Ribbon Race with teammate McKenzie W and Chrome
17th place out of 76 Sr Speed Dash
NT Poles
12th place out of 63 in Key Race
12th place out of 63 in Jumping Figure 8
Bottom of the 2D Barrels

🔥Ashley and Fly🔥
Got the opportunity to ride McKenzie's horse Fly in 4-in-a-line and managed to help the team earn 2nd place! What a fun team!

🔥Ashley and Jagger🔥
8th place out of 26 in Sr Egg & Spoon

Thank you to those who stayed home to keep the barn running while we were away. We could not leave for this trips without some wonderful people staying behind to keep the wheel turning while we are away, so THANK YOU!

Thank you to my mom for watching Lainey all weekend. Thank you for checking in the entire weekend and always being my cheerleader. Thank you for helping me pursue this passion.

Thank you to Nate for being my partner in crime in this life. Thank you for being the rock in my corner and your endless support with this crazy hobby. I love and appreciate you immensely. ♥️

Thank you Brooke Becker-Pierce for Magnawaving my crew before we headed to Champ Show and thank you to Melissa Williams with FinishLine for her session during Champ Show. Thank you Faith Larson with Oak Creek Equine for working with my horses all season long to keep them feeling their best. There are alot of individuals behind the scenes that keep them feeling great. Thank you to you all.

We would like to give a HUGE congratulations to long time student Ireland Sargent for a successful State 4H Horse Show. She took a horse that had been sitting in the pasture, that had never showed pleasure, worked her butt off all winter and summer, qualified in 4 classes to compete at the State Show, made it in the finals for Ranch Pleasure and earned 6th PLACE ribbon in Western Showmanship! We are so, so proud of your hard-work and resilience with your animal, and your sportsmanship shown the entire weekend. We can't wait to watch what you do next show season.

It was a hot one! We kept it easy on the lesson horses and played a little game of soccer while practicing critical thinking and steering. Way to go ladies!

SOLD

Trail Horse Deluxe: Grandpa Edition🌟

Meet Monty – a distinguished gentleman in his late teens to early 20s. His coggins say 2006 from the previous owner. This silver fox of the pasture is looking for a new set of trails to conquer.

Monty was purchased in March as a confidence booster for his current owner, and let me tell you – he did just that. He doesn’t buck, bolt, or spook. His preferred gear? First. He’s the equine equivalent of cruise control. Take him in the outdoor or on the trails and he will be your steady eddy all day long.

Just give him the reins and let him follow the trail (preferably behind a more ambitious horse), or ride him around the farm. He’s not into circles, patterns, or anything resembling effort. Play days? Maybe if something is chasing him. But if your idea of fun is a relaxing trail ride or ponying the grandkids around the farm, Monty’s your man.

🟢 Leads, ties, loads, and tacks up like a gentleman
🟢 Same horse whether you ride him every day or let him sit
🟢 Walk/trot with ease, will lope with the right ask
🟢 Loves his fly mask, takes the bit well, and appreciates a good dinner
🟢 lets you braid his mane and pretty him up like he’s headed to prom

⚠️ Occasionally walking away when you try to catch him. He’s not being rude — he’s just making sure you brought snacks. He’s also not a fan of touching his mouth (takes bridle fine) and might toss his head once out of protest. Totally fair. He gets over himself quick.

Monty has a white spot in his eye. We had a vet out, and there is no sign of ulcers. They suspect it’s an old injury or a cataract, however it does not seem to phase him much.

Seller is motivated as they would like to find a horse willing to go in the show pen, which Monty would prefer not to be. Asking LOW ×,××× starting with a 2. Please reach out to me for more information!

𝑴𝑨𝑰𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑬

PSA: This is about horses… so stay with me now.

Picture this: You’re shopping for a used pickup. You come to look at mine. I smile at you and say,
“𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘵 100,000 𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘻𝘦𝘳𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦.” I’m proud of the fact that I’ve driven it 100,000 miles and done no maintenance—no oil changes, no fuel filter changes, no tire rotations, no air filter replacements, no transmission service. Nothing.
I brag that it’s made it 100,000 miles without ever breaking down, never leaving me stranded, and never needing anything to keep it going.

Would you take a chance and buy that truck to drive the next 100,000 miles?
I’m guessing the answer is a big 𝙉𝙊.

So why would you look at a horse any differently?

Why would it make sense that a horse shouldn’t need any maintenance?

So the next time you’re debating taking your horse in for a routine lameness evaluation—even though they’re still “working”—or you’re horse shopping and looking for something with “no maintenance,” stop and think about this analogy.
Ask yourself: What kind of rig would you rather drive—one that’s been well maintained, or one that hasn’t?
