This big, fluffy 5-year-old Great Pyrenees is 85 pounds of calm, snuggly perfection. Sampson was recently adopted, but through no fault of his own, he was returned when his adopter ran into issues with their landlord. 💔 While it wasn’t the right home for him, we know his true forever family is still out there!

Sampson absolutely lives for belly rubs and will happily flop over to show you his gratitude. He’s laid-back and easygoing, happiest when lounging by your side or taking a slow stroll to sniff all the best smells.

He does best around adults or older kids who understand how to respectfully play with dogs. Sampson is a big guy and can be a bit much for small dogs and very young children, but with the right family, he’ll be the most loyal, loving companion.

If you’re looking for a mellow best friend with sweet, soulful eyes (and a belly always ready for rubs), come meet Sampson and you might just fall in love. 💙

✨ From Kennels to Cuddles ✨

Sweet Kiki waited just over a month at the shelter for her perfect family to find her. She was one who was nervous, uncertain, and shy when meeting new people. We were thrilled when her person walked on and fell in love with her and saw the love and companionship Kiki had to offer. Her new family shared this wonderful update with us:

“I wanted you all to know that while I did rename her, she is in good hands. She is completely different than she was at the shelter. She is chatty, playful, loving, and happy to be here. She likes to sleep under the covers beside me or under my pillow. Thank you for a lifetime bond!”

Now known as Freya, this once-waiting kitty is living her best life snuggled under the covers, chattering away, and soaking up all the love she deserves. 💕

Update: ADOPTED!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Sonic is back and better than ever! This 5.5-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix recently took a little break from the adoption floor to heal from a small procedure. She had a mass removed that was essentially just a really stubborn bed sore (nothing bad or ongoing), but it was in a tough spot and needed extra time to heal. Thanks to the love and care she received in a foster home, Sonic has made a full recovery and is now ready to find her forever family.

This sweet girl is housetrained, loves to play with other dogs, and is happiest when she’s snuggled up with her people. She has the kind of gentle, affectionate personality that makes her an instant favorite, and it’s clear she’s ready for life outside of the shelter. Sonic has been so patient through her healing journey, but now what she truly wants is a home of her own where she can relax, play, and soak up all the love she deserves.

Meet Macey Mae, our beautiful 11-month-old Australian Shepherd/English Setter mix who lives life to its fullest! She has a blast just running around with a ball, and then bringing it to you to throw it for her. (Check out our Story for a video of her basking in the delight of playing with her ball!) This girl has her priorities straight; ball first, cuddles after. 😉

Macey Mae is housetrained, has done well with kids and other dogs, and already has some great manners under her belt. She’s playful, sweet, and would love a family who enjoys playing and having fun just as much as she does!

✨ “He will have one brown eye and one blue…” ✨

At just 2 years old, Denali is the kind of Husky you read about in stories: strikingly handsome, with eyes that seem to hold a little bit of starlight. ✨ He’s playful, but never overwhelming. Gentle, but never timid. Loving, loyal, and ready to weave himself into the heart of whoever is lucky enough to call him theirs.

He’s also done well with other dogs here at the shelter and is ready to be someone’s adventure buddy, cuddle partner, and forever friend.

Okay, so he’s not technically red, or the size of a house (thankfully!), but our Clifford is every bit as lovable, loyal, and larger-than-life!

Just like the original, this Clifford is:

🐾 Best friend material through and through

He’s a Lab/Mastiff mix who loves playtime, zoomies, and making new dog friends. Despite his size, he’s gentle, goofy, and full of charm. All he’s missing is his very own Emily Elizabeth (that’s YOU!) to take him home.

Every dog has a story to tell. Some good, some bad. We wish we knew the story of every dog who came into our care, but often times are left wondering and can only imagine what some of them go through.

This is Max. He is a Husky, about 2yrs old, and we wish we knew what he had been through. We can only imagine it wasn't good. He was picked up very sensitive to touch and any handling. His whole body would tense if a hand reached for him, and it was clear something in his past had taught him to be wary of people.

Today? Patience, love, and mutual respect have changed everything for him. He is learning to trust and open to people again. A hand he may have tensed up from he now leans in and presses against for love and affection. He is so gentle, sweet, and shows his true heart to people who give him patience and space to feel safe. (A little bribing with Vienna sausages helped, too.)

Max is searching for a special home that will give him the same patience and respect he’s found here. A friendly doggie companion would be the cherry on top. He lights up when playing with other pups and could really benefit from having a canine buddy to show him the ropes.

Max may not be the dog who rushes into your arms on day one, but when he does choose you, it is the best kind of love on earth. ❤️
