We have an update on our marvelous Beryl to share!
After coming to us when she was found hiding in someone's burn pile with severe burns covering her face and parts of her body, along with a bad leg injury, she has recently made it far enough in her healing journey to move to foster! 🏡🎉
The photos of her healing process are difficult to see, but we wanted to share every part of her journey to show exactly what this brave girl has endured. Due to the severity of her burns and to encourage healing, she underwent debridement on her wounds—which is why her skin appears so red in some of the later photos.
We also learned that our sweet girl was in the early stages of pregnancy when she came to us. Because of the extent of her injuries and the stress on her body, the pregnancy was not viable. Beryl has been through SO much, yet she has remained loving, gentle, and trusting throughout it all. She will still need surgery to repair her eyelids, as they are ectropion, but for now she is healing comfortably in a loving foster home.
We can't wait to share more of her journey as she continues to heal. ❤️
Beryl's cost of care is already sky high. So far her total bills are $9,433 and she still has surgery costs ahead of her. If you'd like to donate to her care, we would be deeply grateful for any donations to help us in covering her vet bills. We cannot do what we do without the support and kindness of our community.
