This week, we shared Sara’s story. Yesterday, we honored Gaby, now in hospice, wrapped in love. Today, we pause to remember the others we poured our hearts into but who didn’t make it.

The late-night vet trips. The fragile feedings. The whispered comforts when they were too weak to fight.

We did everything we could. And still… sometimes love isn’t enough to save them.

But here’s the truth:

Their lives count, even if they were short.

Your support counts, even when outcomes aren’t perfect.

The cost of care is real. The heartbreak is real. The loss is real.

Your donation—especially on Erie Gives Day—does more than just fund medicine. It funds hope. It funds rescue. It funds the next name in our stories.

Yesterday, we shared Sara’s story. Today, we want to tell you about her sister, Gaby.

When their mom passed away, Sara, Gaby, and their other sibling were left behind tiny and alone, with no one to care for them.

Gaby was the most sensitive of the trio. The loss hit her hard, and the world never really felt safe again. We brought her and her sisters into our care, knowing they deserved more than a quiet end to a life just beginning.

While Sara slowly started to heal, Gaby struggled. Her grief ran deep, and her body began to show signs that she wasn’t okay.

Today, Gaby is in hospice with us. She is safe, loved, and surrounded by calm. She spends her days curled up in cozy beds, offered gentle affection, and reminded that she matters, because she does.

Not every story ends in adoption. But every story should end in love.
That’s what Gaby has now. And we’ll keep giving it to her for however long she needs.

Sara was found after her mother passed away. No one knows how long they were there, waiting, scared, and alone.

Eventually, the trio made it to another shelter, but because of their age and shy temperaments, they were considered “unadoptable” and at risk of euthanasia.

That’s when we stepped in. We brought all three siblings into our care and gave them the time, patience, and support they needed.

Sara requires daily medicine and regular blood pressure checks. We have attached the cost of just one of her visits. Donations make these visits possible!
