🌟 Thousands saved. Countless second chances. 🌟 This month’s NVA Heroes at Metairie Small Animal Hospital have given countless animals like Champ a new chance at life.

For over eight years, they have partnered with Zeus' Rescues to care for abandoned pets across Louisiana.

Champ was a frail, abandoned, and matted poodle puppy who could barely lift his head, let alone stand, when he first arrived at their clinic.

“Unfortunately, it seemed like he was a victim of a severe neglect case even though he was still a young puppy,” said Dr. Adi Chatow.

After a complete shave and bath, Champ weighed only 11.4 pounds instead of a healthy 35 pounds.

The MSAH team stabilized Champ, gave him vaccinations and parasite prevention, and placed him on a strict feeding plan to help him gain weight safely.

Within just a few days, Champ's personality started to shine through. When he came back for his neuter procedure a few months later, he was unrecognizable.

“He was a full-grown, cheery doodle who was no longer terrified of life,” said Dr. Chatow. "Working with Zeus’ Rescues is incredibly rewarding and a constant reminder of why we do what we do.”

Found abandoned on an Idaho road, she was brought to Alta Animal Hospital in desperate need of emergency surgery. Dr. Taylor Ellis not only saved her life—but gave her a forever home.

Named after the iconic 60s model, Twiggy now spends her days trail running, couch napping and sharing her adventures on Instagram at . 💕

It's National Wildlife Day 🦆💚 At St. Johns Veterinary Hospital, pets are their patients, but wildlife is part of their community too. When a young goose arrived with a fishhook in its leg, the team got to work – because compassion knows no species.

“Thanks to our team's expert care, this young goose now has a much brighter future ahead,” said Suzanne Price, Hospital Manager. “The gosling went to rehab where it will continue to heal and grow stronger before being released back into the wild.” 💛

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. 🐾🌈 The Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain team partnered with a local Girl Scout Troop to create a Rainbow Bridge Trail to help pet parents honor the pets they loved and lost.

“The stones, benches, and bird houses are all hand-painted by the 5th grade Girl Scout troop,” said the team. “The Girl Scouts also earned their community badge for creating a peaceful place for pet parents to visit and leave mementos of their beloved pets." ❤️💛💚💙
