A leptospirosis outbreak is currently spreading along the California coast ‼️ Sea lions are carrying the bacteria, which contaminates sand and water 🌊🦭 and curious pups can pick it up just from sniffing or walking near those areas.

Lepto isn’t just a pet problem. It’s zoonotic, meaning it can spread to both dogs and people. In dogs, it can lead to vomiting, dehydration, kidney failure - and in severe cases, can be fatal.

💉 The good news? It’s preventable. Vets now recommend annual vaccination for all dogs, regardless of breed or lifestyle.

👉 Protect your pup and make sure their leptospirosis vaccine is done today

While we’re all celebrating, loud noises and flashing lights can be scary for pets. Here are a few safety tips to keep tails wagging and whiskers calm:

🔹 Keep Them Indoors – Even if they’re usually fine outside, fireworks can spook pets into running away.
🔹 Create a Safe Space – Set up a cozy, quiet spot with their favorite toys, blankets, and some calming music.
🔹 ID Is a Must – Make sure collars & microchips are up to date, just in case they slip out.
🔹 Skip the Scraps – BBQ food can be harmful. No bones, onions, or chocolate!
🔹 Talk to Us About Anxiety – If your pet gets anxious, ask us about calming options a few days before the holiday.

Stay safe and give your pets an extra cuddle from us! 💙🐶🐱
