✨ Let’s Talk for a Sec ✨

Rescue work often gets misunderstood. We sometimes hear comments like “you’re just resellers,” or “you must be making money off those dogs,” especially since our adoption fees are higher than some local shelters.

The truth? Adoption fees rarely cover the actual cost of care. Here’s what really goes into preparing a dog for adoption:

Training equipment: Proper gear is essential to help our dogs work through behaviors like leash pulling.

Medical care: Quality vet care is never cheap, but thanks to an amazing clinic that offers us payment plans and steep discounts, we’re able to say yes to dogs we otherwise couldn’t. (Truly, we can never thank them enough.)

Nutrition: High-quality food makes a huge difference in health and behavior, and we go through a lot of it.

Transportation: From pickups to vet visits, the gas costs add up quickly.

Even with discounts and support, the expenses are significant. Adoption fees only reflect a fraction of the money, time, love, and attention invested into each dog.

❤️ Want to make an even bigger impact? Sponsor an adoption fee! It helps dogs find homes faster, and we love being able to tell adopters, “This one’s covered by a generous supporter.” At the moment, Uintah and Dita would love to have their adoption fees sponsored!!

Finally, thank you to our adopters, transport coordinators, partner shelters, and everyone who follows, shares, and supports us. You keep us going, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

Happy Friday y'all! 🐾💙

We could use a little help this week for our Ohana Rottweiler Rescue pups!

Right now, we’re in need of:

🦴 Dog food
🦮 Leashes & martingale collars
🩺 Help covering medical bills for a few of the dogs we'll have coming in next week including this handsome boy pictured above.

If you’d like to help directly with supplies, we also have an Amazon Wishlist where you can order items our dogs need and have them shipped straight to us:

https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/19DQREWISUYVV?ref_=wl_share

Every little bit helps keep our rescue dogs healthy, happy, and on the road to their forever homes. 💕

Thank you for always being part of the Ohana — we couldn’t do this without you! 🙌🐾

Training is critical to a well-balanced canine companion. .

And sure, when a rescue or trainer says “training is vital,” it might sound a little self-serving—like McDonald’s assuring us cheeseburgers are part of a balanced diet. Skepticism is natural.

But here’s the truth: puppies who receive proper guidance from the very beginning, particularly during their most critical and difficult neurological stages (roughly 6–18 months), grow into dogs who are confident, adaptable, and deeply connected to their families. These are the dogs who never need a rescue like ours.

Just as we wouldn’t keep a child out of school entirely and then expect them to thrive in adulthood, we can’t expect a puppy to magically become an emotionally resilient, socially capable dog without intentional training and thoughtful care.

Early puppy training—like early childhood education—goes beyond “sit” and “stay.” It teaches a dog how to learn, how to handle stress, how to interpret the world around them, and how to make good choices in real time. The way we present cues, the way we use space and movement, and the way we reward focus or calmness all shape whether that dog grows into a confident partner or struggles to cope.

Without guidance, a puppy’s world can feel small, chaotic, and overwhelming. With early, consistent nurturing, that same world becomes exciting, manageable, and full of possibility.

Training from puppyhood isn’t about controlling a dog—it’s about building their capacity to live fully and safely in a human world. It’s creating the structure—physical, emotional, and cognitive—that keeps them out of danger, out of trouble, and out of rescue.

So yes, it might sound biased when we say training is essential. But the evidence is simple: when a dog has confidence, focus, adaptability, and resilience, they’re not coming through our doors. And that’s the ultimate goal—an empty rescue.

✨ Please, make our rescue unneeded through proper training and responsible animal care, that's truly the ultimate goal.

How long is too long to be in a shelter?
For us—one day is too long.

But this handsome man has spent over 365 days in a rural shelter, waiting for his family to find him. We’re thrilled to say his wait is finally over—because we get to help him on his journey to a forever home.

Meet Uintah! 🐾
This bouncy, happy 2-year-old husky would love a home with another dog friend and maybe some kiddos to play with in the yard. Since coming into our care, we’ve only seen great things from him—and he’s ready to meet his people right now.

His adoption includes:
💙 Free Boarding for Life
💙 Lifetime Support
💙 Leash & Collar
💙 2 Private Lessons to help you learn what he knows
💙 Small Bag of His Current Diet
💙 Fully Vaccinated & Neutered
💙 Microchipped & Dewormed

📞 Call or text 801-372-9140 to set up a meet-and-greet and make Uintah’s happily-ever-after begin today.

Introducing our newest not-rott! 🐾

Meet Dita!
This 2-year-old pittie mix is pure joy in a dog suit. 🩷

Dita is all about adventure, adores her dog friends, and is great with older kids (she’s got some zoomies in her and might accidentally topple the little ones!).

She’s just wrapped up 4 weeks of board and train with us and is:
✅ Awesome on leash
✅ Solid with advanced obedience
✅ House and public polite and well behaved
✅ Reliable off leash

She’s the total package—and she’s ready for her forever adventure buddy 🌲🐕‍🦺
