🐾✨Meet Dr. Stephens✨🐾
Dr. Lori Stephens grew up in Midland, TX, where she actively participated in 4H and FFA during high school, showing steers and evaluating horses. After completing undergraduate studies at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.
Following graduation, Dr. Stephens worked in small animal general practice in San Antonio and Helotes. In 2011, she acquired her first veterinary practice, and in 2012, she expanded by purchasing a second. Owning her own business had always been a dream, and she was excited by the opportunity to build and expand a veterinary practice. Although the journey was challenging and demanded hard work, both practices flourished under her care. Her dedication and passion for the work paid off, and she found success in building a business that not only thrived but also fulfilled her personal and professional goals.
It was at this time, Dr. Stephens developed a passion for eastern medicine, completing a certification in small animal and equine acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). In 2014, she expanded her focus to equine integrative wellness and founded an equine integrative wellness clinic. Dr. Stephens continued her education, becoming certified in Equine Medical Manipulation in 2017 at Chi University. In 2019, she shifted her focus toward small animal geriatrics, integrating both Western and Eastern approaches.
December of 2024, Dr. Stephens joined Thrive New Braunfels, bringing with her a focus on integrative medicine, geriatrics and wellness care. Beyond her professional life, Dr. Stephens enjoys horseback riding, gardening, and maintaining a small farm with her wife Samantha. Dr. Stephens and Samantha have horses, mules, mini donkeys, chickens, dogs, cats, and a pig named Franklin.
