Thar she be! Al dressed up and ready for the ball. The next step is to build a four panel mortise and tenon door to fit the opening and also coincide with the existing original doors in the house. As well as shelving and hanging space for the clothing.

I was able to save enough of the old moulding to match the baseboard on the floor trim and crown for the ceiling. However I did have to embellish a bit on the crown moulding. I had to add the decorative crown blocks you see in the corners. Unfortunately I didn’t have quite enough left from the demolition to cope into the existing crown. I think it still finishes clean enough though.

Well……… there it is . The closet project is ready for prime and paint!

The closet project is underway with its exterior cladding in tongue and groove. The interior will be done in red cedar for insect control and its wonderful scent!

Just finished the installation of this drop down attic staircase for a repeat customer. They’re now able to access some much needed attic storage space!

Well……. Here it is. The traditional English 5 bar gate. It’s a mix of mortise and tenon joinery with a smattering of mechanical holds as well. This particular project was a lot of fun and really utilized hand tooling and traditional woodworking skills. It’s nice to get away from the noise and chaos of the power tool world that is present and demanded with today’s time frames!

A clean precisely made cut line with a marking knife and a careful cut with a Japanese pull saw makes for a nice square shoulder! Perfect for the tenon on my 5 bar fence gate!

Soffit and facia wrapped up on the Scarborough veranda! Just a small bit left and we can check the box on another project!
