Had a fun time last night dragging some weight! We tested the new weight sled and it’s going to work great! Even had people show up and work on obedience since they are still waiting for their harnesses! We have a great group, happy we’re opening doors for people and their dogs!! Happy Training!!

Sammy is a sweet older gentleman adoptable through Clarkshelter.org. He has a good obedience foundation, enjoys people and loves to ride in the car!

About a month ago our friends at Devil Dog K9 Fitness & Training launched a campaign to purchase Walk Your Dog With Love, No-Pull Harnesses for our shelter dogs. Through local business and individual support the purchase of 30 harnesses was sponsored. Although, we do work on leash training and other basic skills while at the shelter, its not a quick fix. We find that adopters become frustrated when dogs pull and it makes walks unpleasant which creates more bad habits or they just stop taking their dogs for walks altogether. These harnesses are another tool to create good experiences for our dogs and their new families. Our volunteers that run and walk dogs have given great feedback and say these harnesses are a game changer for some of the bigger stronger dogs that pull on a regular harness or leash. So thank you to Brenda at Devil Dog for always thinking of new ways to set our dogs up for success and thank you to the community support for making this purchase possible!

Our training group had a fantastic k9 emergency first aid class tonight presented by Sarah Dasher! Very informative with hands on practice! Thank you to Sarah and her “model” River for presenting tonight! BTW - no blue dinosaurs were hurt in during this presentation! 😉

I have a client in need of rehoming this young dog due to life changes. I don’t normally do this BUT this is a really nice young dog and I want her to get into the right home. She is about a year old, UTD on vax, on flea/tick. She has been though our 4-Week Intensive Board & Train program and she is awesome! She is very intelligent and a willing participant in her training, she loves the engagement. She really does need some sort of “job” - that could be just playing fun games with her person. She could be a nice sport dog - barn hunt, rally, ob, agility, nosework, etc. This video is a session during her board & train. She is crate trained. She is not yet spayed but we’re working on that. Her name is Daisy. I will donate 2 private lessons to her adopter to review what Daisy knows and help everyone get settled together. Our training group had a great time working last night on fitness pulling - the dogs were dragging plate weights! We had a couple new comers join us for the fun! All the dog teams did great and we learned about our dogs and their ability - now we can better plan future trainings!
