🐱🚨 Huge Rescue Upgrade Alert! 🚨🐱

We want to give a MASSIVE shoutout to two of our amazing volunteers (and former fosters/adopters), Heather and Jon, who traveled all the way to Fox Chapel to pick up two stainless steel 5x5x2 kennel banks for our rescue and delivered them to our storage unit in Burgettstown! 🙌🏻🛻🐾

These kennels will be a game-changer for our future space. They are perfect for quarantining new intakes and housing cats safely and comfortably while they await vetting or placement in foster care. Clean, sturdy, professional-grade, and ready for their next life-saving chapter with us! 😻

This was a HUGE investment for KCCR ($1,200 to be exact), and while these kennel banks typically cost $1-2K each, we scored them for a fraction of the price thanks to a little luck and a whole lot of generosity. 🥹💸

📣 Special thanks to PetVet365 in Fox Chapel for holding onto them while we sorted out transport, and not selling them to the next person in line 😂. We truly got lucky with this one!

After 8+ years of living with constant irritated eyes from entropium and a tough life on the streets, sweet Griffin has finally got the surgery he needed to give him relief.

We couldn't imagine how painful and irritating it must of felt that every time he blinked it felt like his eyes were being scratched... for 8 long years.

He was also living with mouth pain as he had a tooth pulled and the other ones cleaned.

We're so excited to finally give this sweet boy the life he deserves. One of lots of love and comfort. We were able to do this because of YOU. Griffin and the team here at KCCR says thank you. You've sure made a difference in his life. This is why we do what we do and your continued support makes that possible.

We would also like to thank Dr Dorazio and the staff at Akeso Veterinary Clinic for all the care they provide for our cats. We know they're in great hands when they come there.

We are still in desperate need of an adoption coordinator or two! We are severely behind on reviewing adoption applications. Please consider this coordinator role 🙏🏻 no experience necessary! We will teach you and walk you through everything you need to know!

🔎🐱 ADOPTION COORDINATOR WANTED 🐱🔎

We're looking for an adoption coordinator (or two) to process our kitties' adoptions and isn't afraid to pickup the phone! 📄📞😸

Duties include:
🐾 reviewing adoption applications
🐾 approving/denying adoption applications
🐾 reaching out to the applicant's provided references (vet references, landlord references, etc.) to confirm their info
🐾 researching applicant's public social media and public property and criminal records to confirm info
🐾 conducting a short phone interview with potential adopters for any further questions
🐾 answering questions, messages, emails, and phone calls related to adoptions or adoptable cats
🐾 arranging a meet and greet and/or same-day adoption between adopter and the kitty's foster parent
🐾 occasionally participating in public adoption events (not a requirement, but preferred)
🐾 getting adoption records/folders/take-home bags ready for adoption day (we will provide everything you need for this. If you cannot be present for adoptions and want to do this role virtually, we will not require you to do this)
🐾 utilizing Shelterluv program to finalize adoptions
🐾 adding/updating current adoptable kitties' profiles on our website, PetFinder, Adopt-a-Pet, Shelterluv, AME, etc.
🐾 working with our event coordinators and event volunteers to plan adoption events
🐾 promoting our kitty's adoptions via social media and other advertising methods
🐾 communicating with foster coordinator to stay updated on adoptable and health status of everyone's foster kitties

This volunteer role requires you to learn about the kitties in our care, our foster homes, and the ins and outs of our adoption process. It is a tedious role, but one that can be done from the comfort of your home!

Since we are a small rescue, we only get on average 2-3 adoption applications per week. When we have young adoptable kittens, that number can sky rocket to 20+ applications per week.

Can anyone assist with tear-down at the First Friday's vendor show event in Washington, PA tomorrow evening at 8 PM? We desperately need another set of hands to help with taking down our 10x10 tent, two tables, and supplies.
